Mika Brzezinski Doesn't Understand Why Sexually Harassed Women Won't Forgive Their Harassers Already

She apologized for it the same day, but Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski made some head-scratching statements Friday, basically questioning why on earth the women who accused journalist Mark Halperin of sexually harassing them wouldn’t just sit down and have a chat with him about it.

“We also have some men who are willing to face the music, who are willing to face the facts, who are willing to admit to their actions 10, 20 years ago, even five years ago,” she began. “Mark Halperin is more than willing to meet with his accusers and apologize with them face-to-face. I’ve actually tried to offer him to them. They don’t want to talk to him. They don’t want to talk to him.”

She then suggested those victims are caught up in “some hypocrisies here.”

This pomposity led to 10 of Halperin’s victims crafting a letter pushing back on Mika’s brazen lack of judgment, in which they request that the Morning Joe host adopt “higher standards of editorial judgment, compassion and human decency.”

Ouch. There’s always a tendency on the left to take the most noble of human choices — like forgiveness born of grace — and beat people over the head with them until they become some perverted political tool used to justify poor (even criminal) behavior. The decision to forgive Halperin is their choice, Mika. It’s not one you can legislate from your chair on cable TV.

Looks like the ladies aren’t letting you get away with it this time. Good for them.
