You'd think that any elected official in this country, regardless of political party, would be embarrassed to stand up and express support for criminal illegal immigrants over their own constituents and the rule of law.
And yet, egged on by self-loathing leftist voters in their states, that is exactly what we've seen many Democrats do in response to the Trump administration's crackdown on illegal immigration, with some virtually camping out at ICE/CBP detention facilities and, in some cases, even traveling to other countries to plead for their release. Others, meanwhile, have laid hands on immigration enforcement agents to try to intimidate them into not doing their jobs.
Among those who routinely show up at the ICE detention centers has been Democrat Rep. Dan Goldman (NY-10), who has frequently tag-teamed alongside his colleague, Rep. Jerry Nadler (NY-12), in comparing federal immigration officers to "the Gestapo" while proclaiming there is no reason why the agents should be masked when taking criminal illegals into custody. This, of course, ignores the countless number of times the agents have been doxxed, harassed, threatened, and assaulted because of incendiary rhetoric spewed by the likes of Goldman and Nadler.

Goldman is again taking issue with ICE after a report this week from the New York Post that revealed New York state has released close to 7,000 criminal illegals "without notifying ICE since President Trump took office." This includes especially violent elements who could be considered among the worst of the worst. But they were let go, which of course gives them the opportunity to victimize more innocent people.
It's infuriating, and comes as a direct result of so-called "sanctuary city/state" policies that call on law enforcement to refuse to cooperate.
Instead of being equally outraged that criminal illegals were being released back out onto the streets, Goldman suggested he was "proud" of the process they currently used, and tried to give DHS a lecture about "due process." Notice how at no point did Goldman include any verbiage in his post related to illegal immigrants. Instead, it was "convicted criminals" and "those charged":
You should do your research @triciaohio. NYC law permits coordination with ICE for convicted criminals who have completed their sentence.
— Daniel Goldman (@danielsgoldman) December 3, 2025
It does not allow ICE to remove from prison those charged but not yet convicted.
We proudly believe in due process.
You should too. https://t.co/PmqBtAKlvF
DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin wasn't having it, pointing to several notorious cases of violent illegals being put back onto the street and asking why NY decided to release them instead of holding them:
Riddle me this, Congressman @danielsgoldman: why did NY release these violent criminals from custody, refuse to turn them over to @ICEgov and put them BACK on New York streets?
-NYPD arrested Huseyin Aslan for rape, assault, and criminal contempt, and he was convicted for aggravated criminal contempt. Despite an ICE detainer lodged against him, Aslan was released.
-Steven Daniel Henriquez Galicia was arrested for attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon. Despite an ICE detainer, Henriquez was released.
-On August 19, NY authorities arrested Anderson Smith Satuye-Martinez, a Crips gang member, for criminal possession of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance. He also has a conviction for assault. Despite an ICE detainer lodged against him, Satuye-Martinez was released by local authorities.
-On September 25, NY authorities arrested Jose David Hernandez-Hernandez for rape, strangulation, and assault. Despite an ICE detainer lodged against him, Hernandez-Hernandez was released by local authorities.

And on Monday, after the stats were released, McLaughlin emphasized just the types of people New York Democrats seem to be okay with freely roaming the streets:
-29 homicides
-2,509 assaults
-207 sexual predatory offenses
-199 burglaries
-305 robberies
-392 dangerous drugs offenses
-300 weapons offenses
Under @KathyHochul New York has refused to honor @ICEgov detainers and RELEASED back onto New York’s streets 6,947 criminal illegal aliens since January 20.

The crimes of these aliens include:
-29 homicides
-2,509 assaults
-207 sexual predatory offenses
-199 burglaries
-305…
Those are absolutely not numbers to be proud of - unless you're a Democrat like Dan Goldman who prizes political correctness and virtue signaling about "inclusion" over the safety and security of the people in your congressional district, regardless of how they voted.
Editor’s Note: Democrat politicians and their radical supporters will do everything they can to interfere with and threaten ICE agents enforcing our immigration laws.
