Oh My Word: CNN Panel Erupts After Former Obama Official Claims He Was an 'Anti-War President'

Democrats are a pretty predictable bunch, and that has certainly been the case in the aftermath of the United States' air strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities, with many Democrats condemning the move in part because President Trump didn't seek their express permission.

Some have either downplayed it or have sought to cast doubt on its success, with former Secretary of State John Kerry proclaiming, "You cannot bomb away the memory of how to make a bomb."

Kerry, of course, held the SoS position during Barack Obama's administration, which did not exactly cover itself in glory with its foreign policy decisions related to Iran. Other former Obama officials are also chiming in, with many unable to find it within themselves to give some credit to Trump while calling for credit to be given to their former boss.

As it turns out, it was a rather wild night on CNN Monday, with GOP strategist Scott Jennings schooling Johanna Maska, who was the Director of Press Advance for former President Obama, on how sometimes it was okay to simply say "'Good job, President Trump. Well done.’ Occasionally, that‘s the right answer" rather than demanding credit for her former boss for something he didn't do.

But it was another comment Maska made during the segment that really had the panel erupting, and that was when she declared that Obama had been an "anti-war president." That not only had Jennings raising his eyebrows and correcting the record, but also far-left Professor Cornel West:

MASKA: I think it does matter, very much so. And I would agree with Dr. West. As the world as it should be, we should not have nuclear weapons. I agree with you 100 percent. The world, as it is the president of the United States, I worked for an anti-war president and I saw -- no, he was. He ran against --

JENNINGS: How many countries did you bomb the crap out of?

MASKA: That's what I'm going to say, Scott.

JENNINGS: Lord Mercy.

MASKA: Like, no. Like you guys didn't just use bombs for diplomacy? But just to be clear --

JENNINGS: Do you want to put the scorecards up against each other between bombs and drones?

Watch:

Considering the miserable failure of their appeasement strategy, which led to more instability in the region, including Iran funding the Hamas terrorist attacks on Israel, Obama officials know they have the most to lose from historical and political legacy standpoints if national and global consensus is that Trump did the right thing.

They can stomach many things, but losing to Trump - especially on issues as consequential as this one, is not one of them, hence the pearl clutching, handwringing, and gaslighting about the nuclear site strikes and the ceasefire deal. It simply does not compute with them that it's Trump, not Obama and not Biden, who is the actual anti-war, peace through strength president in this scenario, bless their hearts.
