Hakeem Jeffries Was Too Busy to Answer WH Call, Now Stomps His Feet and Demands Immediate Iran Briefing

As RedState’s Rusty Weiss reported, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt smoked CNN Monday for their false reporting that administration officials made no attempt to alert Democrat leaders in advance of Saturday night’s attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities. The problem with their narrative: Team Trump did in fact alert Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and attempt to give the heads-up to House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY)—but Hakeem was too busy doing who knows what to answer his phone.

Karoline Leavitt Just Exposed CNN, Dems Over ‘Fake’ Claims Trump Failed to Brief Them Before Iran Strikes

The network was forced to issue a correction on the story. This, "The Most Trusted Name in News."

Meanwhile, the man who was unable to accept a call from the administration is now stomping his feet and demanding that someone pay attention to him. I mean, it’s Monday morning, and they didn’t drop everything immediately following Saturday night’s attack to run talk to him? The horror!

Jeffries was one of numerous Democrats who cried that Trump’s action was unlawful because he failed to seek congressional approval in advance. Of course, the reality is that if they had, Democrats would have leaked like a shattered faucet and destroyed any chance at success.

The New Yorker apparently forgot the Obama years. Does he not know that the former president sent Osama Bin Laden to an early grave in a secret operation?

"I asked for a gang of eight briefing. It has yet to occur,” the always-entitled Hakeem said, “and it's not clear to me what the administration is hiding from the Congress and from the American people. If they have a case to make, come up to Capitol Hill and make it."

Despite almost 50 years of Iranian aggression and consistent support for terrorists, along with the despotic state’s obvious desire to get its hands on a nuclear weapon and use it, Hakeem says there was “no evidence” that action was necessary:

"We've seen no evidence to date that an offensive strike of this nature was justified under the War Powers Act or the Constitution," Jeffries said.

"But the whole reason for the Trump administration to undertake that process is to come up to Capitol Hill and convince the American people and their elected representatives in the House and in the Senate. That hasn't happened."

Newsflash: many experts and even some Democrats themselves have argued that Trump had full authority to order the operation.

Trump officials have maintained that the strike was in compliance with the War Powers Act, which requires the White House to notify Congress within 48 hours of a military action and blocks that operation from continuing for more than 60 days without approval from lawmakers.

Since our military bases are currently under Iranian attack in the Middle East, Hakeem, I don’t think now is the time for them to ditch the Situation Room and run over to chat with you. I’m sure a briefing will happen in the near future—just be sure to answer your phone so you don’t miss the invite.
