Last Wednesday former ESPN Sportscenter co-host Sage Steele debuted her "Sage Steele Show" podcast and has been making the rounds promoting the program, which is part of the Club Random Studios podcast network started by late-night talk show host Bill Maher.

As part of that, Steele recently sat down for an interview with Fox News Digital, where she revealed just how scripted and controlled her March 2021 interview with President Joe Biden was:

But everything Steele said to the president ultimately came from ESPN's c-suite.

"To the word. Every single question was scripted, gone over dozens of times by many editors and executives. Absolutely. I was on script and was told not to deviate," Steele told Fox News Digital. "It was very much ‘This is what you will ask. This is how you will say it. No follow-ups, no follow-ups. Next.' … This went up to the fourth floor, as we said, where all the bosses, the top executives, the decision makers are, the president of our company, the CEO, where they all worked."

Steele said she didn't know for certain whether ESPN sent the questions to the White House in advance of the interview but seemed confident that is "what happened."

Back in October, RedState reported on what Steele told Maher about that pre-recorded interview which was conducted via satellite, where she noted that what was especially eye-opening about it was not so much what he said when the cameras were rolling but what happened just prior to the start of it.

Steele said that not only did Biden struggle to finish his sentences (and was unable to at times), but that as he told the story of his brief time playing football in his younger years, he made a creepy comment to her about his hands.

“He goes, ‘I have the best hands.’ What do you say to that?” Steele remarked at the time.

This dovetails a lot with what we've known about Joe Biden since well before he was sworn into office, what with the basement campaign he ran in 2020, where his handlers could more tightly manage his public appearances and could cut interviews short when he veered off script, which was often.

We have seen that same pattern of behavior for the entirety of the three years he's been president, with his minders including First Lady Jill Biden frequently either pushing or directing Joe Biden away/out of the room/off the stage after speeches or press conferences he gives and herding reporters out like cattle.

One of the more infamous incidents, as RedState readers will recall, was the Easter Bunny incident, involving Biden and a handler who was dressed as the Easter Bunny during the White House Easter Egg Roll in 2022. As Biden was interacting with the crowd and getting ready to answer a question about Afghanistan, here's what happened:
