As RedState noted earlier, rumors swirled Tuesday over the recently announced employment of former Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel at NBC News as a paid political analyst, with Puck News reporting that she had been fired and that "Execs are deliberating over details; announcement pending. Meanwhile, McDaniel is seeking legal representation."

In an update on this story, NBC News has confirmed via a memo that McDaniel will no longer be joining the network on any of its platforms. In it, they cited the on-air revolt that has been taking place on many of their programs on both the MSNBC and NBC News sides:
NBCU News Group Chair Cesar Conde announced the decision to part with Daniels, who just made her inaugural network appearance Sunday, to staff in a Tuesday memo obtained by The Hill.
“No organization, particularly a newsroom, can succeed unless it is cohesive and aligned,” Conde wrote. “Over the last few days, it has become clear that this appointment undermines that goal.”
[...]
A source at the network told The Hill this week there had been unanimous support among leadership at the network for McDaniel’s hiring.
“I want to personally apologize to our team members who felt we let them down,” Conde wrote in his memo on Tuesday. “While this was a collective recommendation by some members of our leadership team, I approved it and take full responsibility for it.”

Cesar Conde, Chairman of the NBCUniversal News Group, emailed the staff writing “After listening to the legitimate concerns of many of you, I have decided that Ronna McDaniel will not be an NBC News contributor.” pic.twitter.com/ymy9lDprUL
In other words, the lunatics are running the asylum there, something we of course knew but which has now been put into writing.
If NBC News thinks this move is going to appease their left-wing critics, though, they've got another thing coming as the goalposts are already being moved:
It's not about cohesion and alignment in a newsroom. It's about platforming someone who participated in an attempt to overturn a national election.

So, the firing is about cohesion and alignment and not, oh, platforming an election-denying anti-American democracy-destroying coup conspirator?

Others suggested the firing of all involved with her hiring, which would be an interesting development considering the fact that Conde has taken full and sole responsibility.
In any event, the message is clear - from both NBC News and their far-left followers: Not even the slightest hint of pro-Trumpism will be allowed on their network. Further, the only "election deniers" allowed will be the ones on which they approve, like Stacey Abrams and Hillary Clinton.
Hard to see how this, which is more or less a ban, won't extend to other Republicans who, while maybe not being fans of Trump nevertheless still haven't crossed into TDS territory. As always, stay tuned to RedState for the latest developments.
