Riley Gaines Would Like a Word After Nadler and Other Dems Gaslight During 'Save Women's Sports' Hearing

For all their talk of allegedly being the "pro-woman" party, Democrats sure have a lousy way of showing it, as evidenced during a House Judiciary Committee hearing Thursday on marking up pending legislation on saving women's sports, specifically, the Protection of Women in Olympic and Amateur Sports Act.

In an announcement made in February when the legislation was introduced, Rep. Gregory Steube (R-FL) stated "Due to the illogical USA Boxing transgender policy, I introduced legislation to prevent organizations who choose to live in delusion from being recognized by the U.S. Olympic committee."

“We must combat the erasure of women’s sports by standing for truth, reality, safety, and fairness,” Steube also said.

"Truth, reality, safety, and fairness" were in short supply, though, among Democrats during the hearing, with Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) proclaiming that "men do not compete in women's sports":

Nadler, I should note for the record, has also denied that Antifa exists.

Then there was Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), whose adult child is allegedly "gender-nonconforming," denying that any transgender woman had ever hurt a female athlete:

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) claimed instances where trans women athletes had harmed female athletes were "not a thing":

As one might imagine, Save Women's Sports spokeswoman Riley Gaines, who is among several female athletes suing the NCAA over their harmful trans policies, had something to say about the rampant gaslighting:

Payton McNabb also spoke out against what was being claimed by Democrats during the hearing:

"Come on now Jerry, you know that ain’t true! Everyone can see right through your delusion. @RepJerryNadler, your statement is a slap in the face to every female athlete that has suffered from this insane issue."

[...]

"Just getting back from my second doctor appointment this week, a year and a half later, I’m definitely going to have to disagree [with Jayapal]. My life is forever changed because of an injury by a boy.   So yeah… men have harmed women in our sports. But as long as your feelings don’t get hurt, right?"

We wrote about McNabb's traumatic experiences as a high school athlete, which she testified about ahead of a North Carolina legislative hearing on a similar bill in 2023, here.

Something important to remember in this debate is that in addition to being injured by trans women athletes, other female athletes like Gaines - as pointed out above - have also reportedly had to endure sharing a locker/dressing room with trans women, some of whom, like Lia Thomas, allegedly had not fully transitioned, according to Gaines:

"...in that locker room we turned around, and there’s a 6’4" biological man dropping his pants and watching us undress, and we were exposed to male genitalia," Gaines said.

"Across the country, women are being forced to share a locker room with men WITHOUT their consent," the Independent Women's Voice also noted

None of this is okay. It will never be okay, and any legislator - Democrat or Republican - who doesn't agree should be voted out of office as soon as the opportunity presents itself because the future of girls' and women's sports is literally at stake depending on decisions that are made by lawmakers right now.
