Kamala Harris Provides an Absolutely Pathetic Preview of the Biden White House Strategy After Hur Report

In August 2020, Joe Biden announced that he had picked then-Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) to be his vice presidential running mate after months of pressure from powerful woke Democrats who had demanded he pick a woman of color as his veep nominee as a condition for their support.

Since that time it's been a rocky road for the gaffe-tastic duo, with reports swirling since Year One of fissures in their working relationship, with Kamala HQ blaming Biden for making her look like a fool in public and Biden's team essentially saying Harris needed no help whatsoever in that department (which one has to admit is a fair point).

But as many seconds in command surely would tell people, no matter what issues they may privately have with their bosses, in public the goal is to try to put on a united front for show - even if it means embarrassing themselves by making the most unbelievable excuses and defenses for their bosses about things for which there are, in reality, no good excuses and defenses.

That is where we found the Vice President on Friday, going to bat for Joe Biden during a White House speech in the most predictably indignant way possible in the aftermath of the Hur report, declaring - without evidence - that it was "politically motivated" and that special counsel Robert Hur, who was appointed by Biden Attorney General Merrick Garland to look into the classified documents scandal, lacked integrity:

“So the way the president’s demeanor in that report was characterized could not be more wrong on the facts, and clearly politically motivated,” Harris said. “And so I will say, when it comes to the role and responsibility of a prosecutor in a situation like that, we should expect that there would be a higher level of integrity than what we saw.”

Later, Harris launched into one of her infamous word salads in defending Biden, proclaiming Hur's findings regarding Biden's mental challenges to be "gratuitous, inaccurate, and inappropriate."

Imagine being someone like Kamala Harris who doesn't have enough integrity to fill a thimble suggesting someone else should have more integrity. Further, imagine working next to Joe Biden for three years as Harris has and seeing a lot more behind the scenes of what we see of him in public, and then marvel that she could say any of what she did Friday with a straight face.

Then again, Kamala Harris is used to demeaning herself to advance her political career, so I guess we shouldn't be too surprised to see her trying to make a (pathetic) case for Biden being competent enough to serve another four years, which is unquestionably an insult to the intelligence of the American people, who know better.

Some things - and people - just never change, I guess.
