Kamala Harris Sings an Interesting New Tune on Travel Bans

We reported Friday on how President Joe Biden once again proved himself to be a raging hypocrite on the issue of COVID-related travel bans by issuing yet another one of several he has since he took office, this one as it relates to Omicron variant of the Wuhan coronavirus that has recently been documented overseas.

For those who missed it, here are the countries from where travel to the United States will be restricted effective Monday:

The discerning reader will note that all of the above countries are located in the continent of Africa, Needless to say, if this had been a Trump travel ban, The Usual Suspects, including Biden, would have trotted out the race card with wild abandon — just as Biden did when Trump implemented the China travel restrictions in January 2020, as the United States was beginning to learn more about COVID-19.

We were also told a year and a half ago by Biden that “a wall will not stop the coronavirus,” this after Trump announced travel restrictions from certain parts of Europe to the United States in March 2020, something else Biden has obviously flipped on since becoming the newest occupant of the Oval Office.

Not surprisingly, Vice President Kamala Harris told reporters today that the travel bans are “necessary,” after she was asked if she believed there would be more travel restrictions put in place in addition to the ones announced Friday:

“I have been briefed,” Harris told reporters. “As the president has said, we’re gonna take every precaution and that’s why we’ve taken the measures we have.”

Harris said she “can’t stress enough” how important it is for Americans to get their booster shots or their first or second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. “I will say what I say every time because it remains true. They are safe, the vaccines are free, and they will save your life.”

Asked about any additional travel restrictions, Harris thought for a moment and said, “We’ll take it one step at a time, but as of now we’ve done what we believe is necessary.”

For Harris, it was a wildly different tune to sing as well, considering her own statement in February 2020 about how Trump’s travel bans were allegedly “un-American” and “clearly driven by hate, not security”:

As I noted before, not that any of these 180s are big shockers (especially with Kamala, considering her convenient change of heart on believing Joe Biden’s accusers last year), but it’s infuriating nevertheless. Like how they deliberately undermined the vaccine last year, the tactics they used to paint Trump as a xenophobe — because he was acting on the information given to him by senior officials in his administration about the spread of the coronavirus in European and Asian countries — were appalling and should not be forgotten.

Unlike Trump, Biden and Harris actually played dangerous political games with both the virus and the vaccine in 2020 in an effort to try and increase their chances of defeating him, not only suggesting the vaccine might not be safe to take because it was being developed under Trump but also accusing Trump of being a racist for doing the exact things they are now doing with putting travel bans in place.

Republicans should not hesitate to remind voters of the two-faced nature of both Biden and Harris on these matters in upcoming political campaigns going into the 2022 midterms. The American public needs to be reminded often that very unserious people are at the helm and yet are making serious decisions that have major impacts on people’s lives with political calculations in mind.

As far as I’m concerned, it doesn’t get much more dangerous than that.
