If I were to compose a top five list of reporters who most often lie, deceive, or otherwise willfully mislead their readers and viewers, PBS News Hour White House correspondent Yamiche Alcindor would easily make the list.
Alcindor has been repeatedly called out for her gotcha-style “reporting” and performance journalism during White House press briefings, as well as for flat out altering quotes from President Trump to deliberately make it look like he said something he didn’t.
The latest instance of Alcindor’s dishonesty comes by way of an interview she did with MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace Tuesday on Trump’s visit to Kenosha, Wisconsin. Alcindor falsely claimed Trump and his supporters believed it was “okay for a 17-year-old [Kyle Rittenhouse] to shoot people in the street who are unarmed, who are at a protest”:
“What you see the president doing is just doubling down and really going to this part of his base — I don’t think all Trump supporters are like this — but going to the part of his base that think that it’s okay for a 17-year-old to shoot people in the street who are unarmed, who are at a protest, who are upset about the way that the federal government is treating African-Americans.”
Watch:

Twitter users were quick to point out that Alcindor was, to put it bluntly, full of it:
None of the people Rittenhouse shot were unarmed. And Yamiche is still not a journalist. https://t.co/rYM3ntTdwn

Not sure why they’re repeating this misinformation, Rittenhouse was chased by a person with a handgun.
There are pictures and video that both @Yamiche and @NicolleDWallace must have seen by now. https://t.co/XAYzqXWv1N

Everyone knows that one of the people shot had a handgun, while another had a skateboard that was used against Rittenhouse, but sometimes you just gotta step harder on that accelerator to get the gaslight to stick, eh @Yamiche?

Unarmed, you say? What's this then? pic.twitter.com/ziS64TnGlP

Hmmm. That doesn’t look “unarmed” to me.
Sadly, PBS journalists aren’t the only ones who have made false claims about the Kenosha shootings. NPR tweeted on Monday that Trump stated “without evidence” that Kyle Rittenhouse acted in self-defense. RedState managing editor Streiff took NPR’s tweet apart here.
