Jack Del Rio is here to tell people that if they don’t like the fact that he supports President Trump, then they can stuff it.
The defensive coordinator for the Washington Redskins raised a few eyebrows on the left this week with a video he retweeted that showed conservative Samantha Marika defend Trump against accusations of racism:

A Twitter user by the name of “Troy” tagged Del Rio in a tweet expressing his disappointment with him, along with a desire to see the former Oakland Raiders coach “stay off Twitter”:
Just found out @coachdelrio is a trump supporter. Wish these old racist would stay off Twitter

The coach saw the tweet, and put “Troy” on blast with a strong statement showing where he stood:
I’m 100% for America, if you’re not you can kiss my A$$ https://t.co/PKCLPIbqVJ

That’s all but telling fans to take him or leave him.
Former NBA coach Jon Karl was fauxfended offended by Del Rio’s stance, and said this in response:
Coach Del Rio, are you saying someone is not American if they don’t support Trump?! https://t.co/zVCyF3RTDo

Del Rio did not answer Karl’s question, but in the past he has indicated he supports the right for people to express their political opinions even when they don’t match up with his.
As the debate raged on during the 2017-2018 NFL season about whether or not players should stand for the national anthem, Del Rio was asked to address a tweet from Trump in which he called on the NFL to suspend then-Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch for sitting down during the national anthem. Del Rio noted that while he believed the right thing to do was to stand and show support for America that he would not suspend players who chose to disagree:
“My stance on the whole thing with Marshawn is, and all of our players, I’ve told them how I feel. I love this country. I think it’s a great honor to be able to play football, coach football for a living. And so, my thought is, that everybody should pay respect to the flag and stand at attention and that’s how I feel about it. But it is America, and everybody can make their choice. And I’ve made that clear too.”
In addition to retweeting the Samantha Marika video this week, Del Rio also shared a tweet from someone who alleged that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) said it was important that governors keep their coronavirus restrictions in place until after election so it would damage President Trump’s re-election chances. As it turned out, though, the alleged AOC screengrab the person tweeted was fake.
