Any day you can dunk on a diehard “Never Trump” grifter is a good day, and yesterday was one of those days.
Because so many on the left and in the mainstream media are busy trying to cancel people and companies for WrongThink, Never Trumper Rick Wilson thought he’d get in on the act as well. He took to the Twitter machine on Monday to take a swipe at Domino’s Pizza for a tweet response they posted to White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany. Here’s what he wrote:
You just killed your brand. #ETTD https://t.co/NdGee87xvH
— Rick Wilson (@TheRickWilson) June 16, 2020
The problem was that the tweet he called out was … nearly 8 years old, way before Trump’s presidency and well before McEnany worked for the Trump campaign and the White House, obviously:
@kayleighmcenany That's one heck of a compliment! Thanks for the love! #WEAPPRECIATEIT!
— Domino's Pizza (@dominos) November 9, 2012
Twitter users were quick to point out Wilson’s mistake, while also bringing up some of his old tweets in contrast to show what a flaming hypocrite he was:
Speaking of past tweets about killing brands 😬 pic.twitter.com/Z5ls2XfVGL

There is nothing that has more 2020 energy than Dominoes getting dragged for this innocent 8-year-old reply to Kayleigh McEnany lmao https://t.co/HfDRaNdmsv

Here is Rick Wilson mocking somebody over digging up his old Biden-bashing tweets — AFTER he tries cancelling Doninos Pizza over an 8-year old tweet he dug up. https://t.co/s4mvt9UEUI

Rick Wilson, who went on CNN and mocked Trump supporters for being ‘dumb’ is trying to cancel @dominos for replying to White House Press Secretary @kayleighmcenany in 2012.
How sad. https://t.co/3pJI67Yyqb pic.twitter.com/j3coFz41Wi

Yep – flashback to that segment between Wilson and Lemon where they, along with NYT contributing op-ed writer Wajahat Ali, had a good ol’ laugh insinuating conservatives were dumb hicks who couldn’t even read a map. Wilson even went on to mock them with a fake southern accent.
Wilson has also apparently started deleting some of the more inconvenient tweets he posted before he became a CNN favorite:
Strange. It appears this tweet has been deleted. 🤔 pic.twitter.com/lWaS2yeXNW

HOLY SHIT… The @JerryDunleavy retweet party of all of @TheRickWilson's old takes on Joe Biden (you know, before Rick lost his mind trying to profit off of being a #NeverTrumper) is the best thing on Twitter tonight.

Dunleavy RTd these gems, which are currently still up on Wilson’s page as of this writing:
You know who gets what's coming? Grifters, that's who.
— Rick Wilson (@TheRickWilson) July 6, 2014
Dear wavering Dems: if you don't know who the mark is a con game is…it's you. And the Grifter in Chief is playing you.
— Rick Wilson (@TheRickWilson) March 20, 2010
Has #blacklivesmatter disrupted a Hillary event? You know, the whitest woman in America?
— Rick Wilson (@TheRickWilson) August 9, 2015
Wait wait wait wait wait. Joe Biden is saying something about dignity? Tell me more! pic.twitter.com/TjXKePVzBn
— Rick Wilson (@TheRickWilson) March 10, 2015
No, let me remind you again, Washington press…Joe Biden is a moron. A charming, affable moron, but a moron by any standard.
— Rick Wilson (@TheRickWilson) September 15, 2013
I see Joe "Smack My Bitch Upside The Head" Biden's comment on slapping women has been memory-holed.
— Rick Wilson (@TheRickWilson) March 13, 2013
McEnany herself responded to the manufactured “controversy”, noting her love for two national pizza chains:
I LOVE @dominos (and also @pizzahut)! ❤️

Today’s lesson: Play stupid games, get hoisted by your own petard. 😉
