LOL: TDS-Suffering Media Matters 'Director of Media Intelligence' Insinuates There's No Such Thing as TDS

I’ve been blogging about politics and media bias since 2003, and I can honestly say that Media Matters is one of the worst websites on the left when it comes to making false, distorted, hypocritical, or at the very least misleading claims about things Republicans and anchors/journalists on Fox News say or do.

On their about page, they note their mission is to provide “activists, journalists, pundits, and the general public… the resources to rebut false claims and to take direct action against offending media institutions.”

Not stated anywhere on the website, but which is nevertheless understood by conservatives who have monitored them over the years, is that it is an unwritten rule that people who work or intern for MMFA must despise Republicans and Fox News – which means TDS and FNDS must be listed somewhere near the top of your résumé in some way, shape, or form.

Hilariously enough, however, at least one prominent Media Matters mouthpiece apparently doesn’t believe there is any such thing as “Trump Derangement Syndrome” – in spite of the volumes of evidence to the contrary.

MMFA’s “Director of Media Intelligence” (whatever that means) Lis Power took Fox News’s Bret Baier to task on Wednesday for using the TDS term “as if it’s an actual thing”:

Apparently Power’s criticism was “powerful” (heh) enough to get Mediaite to interview Baier about the alleged “blowback” (but did it really go much beyond MMFA’s predictable criticisms?) he received over his use of the term TDS.

In unapologetically defending himself for characterizing some of Trump’s critics that way, here’s what Baier said:

My point was is that when something good happens, when the end result is good, you can give the hat tip and say, this is a good end result. But also say, I don’t like how we got here. I don’t like the process. I’m not sure that the administration has a broad strategy. But that’s not what some lawmakers on Capitol Hill were doing. And that’s what the point was in the sentence that I was giving. After two and a half years of coverage of this administration, there is plenty of criticism to go around, and we cover all of it

Agreed. I mean, when you’re on record as calling Trump an “assassin” and are at least partially if not fully blaming him for the downed Ukraine passenger jet in Iran, I think it’s safe to you suffer from TDS.

This is, of course, an inconvenient fact for the geniuses over at Media Matters, but then again, facts don’t seem to be much of a priority for that bunch.
