That Chris Cuomo is not a fan of President Donald Trump nor the Trump family is not exactly breaking or shocking news, but a criticism he leveled at Trump’s son Donald, Jr. about family privilege today had some people wondering if the CNN anchor had forgotten what his last name was.
It all started with an article that appeared in The Hill which recapped an interview Trump, Jr. did on Sean Hannity’s show Wednesday night. Trump told the Fox News talk show host that he would never be able to get away with what Hunter Biden did when his dad Joe Biden was vice president and that a double standard was at play:
“I wish my name was Hunter Biden. I could go abroad, make millions off my father’s presidency,” Trump Jr. said in an appearance on Sean Hannity’s Fox News program. “I’d be a really rich guy.”
Trump Jr. went on to argue that a double standard is at work amid the controversy over the Trump administration’s interactions with Ukraine.
A tweet from The Hill linking to the write-up caught Cuomo’s attention, prompting him to post this comment:

Twitter users had some thoughts:
It seems a certain CNN anchor is sensitive to notions of someone getting ahead because of his famous dad. https://t.co/SyQZr9Y2v0

True arrogance is this@ChrisCuomo living off the Cuomo name.
Just like Don Jr. living off Trump's.
Just like Hunter living off Biden's.
Just like Chelsea living off Clinton's.
Just like Joe living off Kennedy's.
Just like Meghan living off McCain's.Pot, meet America's Kettles pic.twitter.com/o18pjyNSV0

It’s doubtful Cuomo read the piece, because if he did he might find himself agreeing with what Trump was saying to Hannity:
“If I took a no-show job for a business I knew nothing about, in a language I didn’t speak, in a country like Ukraine, where my dad says we’re going to hold billions of taxpayer dollars if you don’t get rid of a prosecutor investigating me, the media would end themselves,” Trump Jr. said, referring to Biden’s work as vice president to oust a Ukrainian prosecutor who was investigating an an energy company that Hunter Biden sat on the board of.
The man has a point.
