Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has spent the last year proclaiming herself to be a champion of migrant women, children and families who are trying to cross the border. She’s compared border detention facilities to Nazi concentration camps and has declared without apology that she will continue to refuse the Trump administration’s request for supplemental funding that would help alleviate the humanitarian issues at the border.
But earlier today the freshman Congresswoman revealed a hypocrisy and duplicity on the border issue that is so stunning in nature that it almost takes your breath away.
Let’s take a trip back to her Twitter feed from just a few days ago, where she blasted the Trump administration for allegedly wanting to deprive illegal immigrant children on the border of toothpaste, soap, and adequate sleeping conditions:
Reminder this admin is CHOOSING to round up refugees seeking asylum, fighting to not give children toothpaste or soap & making people sleep on dirt floors.
They say it’s bc of a lack of 💰. You know what saves money? Not putting masses of people in internment in the first place.

When a powerful entity is trying to grow a system of human rights abuse (which is what this is) it’s on ALL of us, from smallest to biggest, to throw sand in the gears and stop it.
We cannot be compliant with child abuse. These judges are astounded at the argument for it ⬇️ https://t.co/8oYxndP9OA

Fast forward to today, when a group of Wayfair employees announced a walkout because the company was selling beds to the government to use for children in the detention centers:
tl;dr – Wayfair sold beds to furnish border camps; 547 employees signed a petition to ask that we cease all business with border camps; CEO said no —>employees are walking out tmrw at 1:30pm. We ask that Wayfair donate all profits made from the sale to RAICES #WayfairWalkout

Ocasio-Cortez, who just days ago threw firebombs over allegedly deplorable sleeping conditions for children at these detention centers, ENDORSED it:
Wayfair workers couldn’t stomach they were making beds to cage children.
They asked the company to stop. CEO said no.
Tomorrow, they‘re walking out.
This is what solidarity looks like – a reminder that everyday people have real power, as long as we’re brave enough to use it. https://t.co/667abeLDTG

To me, her jumping on board this campaign to deprive children on the border of beds to sleep on because Orange Man Bad pretty much wins the prize on the Evil Witch scale:
So one day you're throwing firebombs about the admin allegedly withholding vital necessities from children and families, and the next day you're celebrating workers who will walk out instead of making beds for those same children. Your duplicity is disgusting. Bless your heart. https://t.co/MlicGKHHVo

Others were quick to weigh in, including the Trump War Room:
To keep migrants comfortable while Democrats in Congress dither on humanitarian aid, the Trump Admin bought bedroom furniture from @Wayfair. Sadly, open-border advocates @AOC @RepPressley are bullying Wayfair to cancel the sale, depriving kids of good beds to sleep in. Heartless!

In this tweet, I learned that AOC either
1. Wants these children sleeping on the floor rather than a bed
2. Wants these children to be released into the desert with no food, water or shelter
3. Wants everyone realeased into the country and, subsequently, totally open borders https://t.co/epWannn6O5

That'll teach a company to provide beds for kids who need them at the border. https://t.co/VAdVqjyoIb

Wait. So you are walking out on a company supplying children’s beds for the overcrowding at detention centers? 🤔 https://t.co/lx8NsUWpjB

I think this tweet sums it up best:
AOC: I am outraged by them sleeping on the floor
Also AOC: Stop the supply of beds pic.twitter.com/9EuU7HQ1YA

So she won’t give due consideration to a request for supplemental funding that would help alleviate some of the conditions she complains about, and she doesn’t want suppliers to sell beds to the government to use so children don’t have to sleep in the deplorable conditions she complains about.
Psst: Hey, mainstream media. Know what it’s time to do? It’s time for y’all to – at long last – CALL. HER. OUT.
