As I wrote earlier, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) called out Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY-14) on Twitter today over an absurd comparison of border detention centers to concentration camps she made during an Instagram Live video Monday night.
To recap, Cheney told Ocasio-Cortez to “do us all a favor and spend just a few minutes learning some actual history. 6 million Jews were exterminated in the Holocaust. You demean their memory and disgrace yourself with comments like this.”
AOC doubled down in response, asking Cheney “I’m curious: What do YOU call building mass camps of people being detained without a trial? How would you dress up DHS’s mass separation of thousands children at the border from their parents?”
Cheney responded again with some important facts AOC didn’t know overlooked.
Earlier in the day, AOC tried to defend herself from “shrieking Republicans” on this issue, but she ended up looking even more foolish:
This is a blatant lie by Ocasio-Cortez
AOC made a clear distinction between concentration camps and internment camps

After reading about what his Congressional colleague on the other side of the aisle said, Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX-2) took to the Twitter machine to help set the record straight:
Clearly I need to explain that, in concentration camps, people are unjustly sought out and confined.
This isn’t what is happening at the border. Migrants are illegally crossing our border. Most are asylum seekers, thus pending trial, so your expert definition doesn’t apply. https://t.co/gE6kaj7jGz

He continued on in the next tweet by putting the pressure on Ocasio-Cortez and other Democrats in the House to approve the $4.5 billion in funding President Trump has requested to alleviate the humanitarian crisis at the border:
Your comments reveal total disregard for our sovereignty & a deep ignorance that belittles the horrors of the Holocaust.
If you’re worried about conditions at the border, why don’t you do something about it & support @RepMikeRogersAL’s bill securing billions in humanitarian aid?

Indeed. As I noted in my prior post on this topic, Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) plans on calling the left’s bluff on this issue next week.
As to AOC, I think this gif sums up her expertise on border issues and Holocaust history pretty well:

Don’t tell Her Highness that, though, because in spite of claiming a lack of expertise in the past, nowadays she wants every one to believe that she’s never wrong – no matter how wrong she is.
