I’m not so sure what was worse about Rep. Katie Porter’s (D-CA-45) appearance on Bill Maher’s show Saturday night:
Her casually ghoulish explanation to Maher about how his mother had the right to abort him, or the audience’s and panel’s uproarious laughter that followed.
The Hill recaps what went down on the Saturday edition of HBO‘s “Real Time”:
Rep. Katie Porter (D-Calif.) drew laughs from the audience while defending a woman’s right to choose Saturday night, after Real Time host Bill Maher joked about being “squishy” on his “pro-choice” views.
“They told my mother after my sister, very difficult birth, she shouldn’t have another one. So knowing I could’ve been on the cutting room floor…why is that so terrible?” Maher said.
Porter quipped back at the comedian: “Your mom made her choice, and we’re all here with the consequences of that choice.”
“I just want to say God bless Ms. Maher, God bless her for having you. I’m sure it wasn’t easy,” Porter said, adding the point is “she made her choice.”

Instead of being shocked at Porter’s remarks – where she told the host of the show who invited her on that it would have been ok if his mother had terminated his unborn life, an assorted variety of left wingers, commentators, and even Democratic politicians praised Porter’s “owning” and “roasting” of Maher on the abortion issue.
Porter herself was obviously extremely proud of the clip, because not only did she tweet it out and add additional comments to it, but her profile picture is now an image of her from the show:

If Maher really would have been on his toes, he would have asked Porter if she’d have been ok with her mother aborting her. Militant pro-aborts really hate it when you ask that question, and usually try and dodge it by saying we “shouldn’t engage in hypotheticals” – even though hypotheticals are hallmarks of their justification for abortion on demand.
That Porter’s callous remarks were so well-received by members of her Democratic pro-abortion tribe just goes to show how deeply seeped into the American conscience the “right” to kill an unborn child actually is, and how much work the pro-life community still has to do to overcome it.
