President Trump, in a Truth Social post early Friday morning, made it brutally clear that there will be no agreement with Iran except for complete capitulation. The negotiation ship, it seems, has sailed.
"There will be no deal with Iran except UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!" he wrote.
Once those terms—well, technically that term—are agreed upon, the President outlined his vision to bring Iran back from the brink.
“After that, and the selection of a GREAT & ACCEPTABLE Leader(s), we, and many of our wonderful and very brave allies and partners, will work tirelessly to bring Iran back from the brink of destruction, making it economically bigger, better, and stronger than ever before,” Trump explained.

Trump's comments come as Iran has refused to name a leader to replace Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in an air strike at the beginning of Operation Epic Fury.
The New York Times reports that Khamenei’s son, Mojtaba Khamenei, is likely a top contender for the post, but officials don't want to name him a successor due to concerns for his safety. Trump would go on to describe the choice as "unacceptable," referring to Khamenei's son as a "lightweight."
“They are wasting their time ... I have to be involved in the appointment, like with Delcy (Rodríguez) in Venezuela,” he added.

Israel contends that yes, they are in fact wasting their time.
"Every leader appointed by the Iranian terror regime to continue and lead the plan to destroy Israel, to threaten the United States and the free world and the countries of the region, and to suppress the Iranian people—will be an unequivocal target for elimination," Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz wrote on X.
That is no hollow threat, considering just one day earlier, Israeli airstrikes had targeted the Assembly of Experts building in Qom, Iran, while the body was in the middle of counting votes to choose Khamenei's successor.

Trump, this past June, made a similar demand of "unconditional surrender" to Iran. Now, however, he's been backed up by American military might in recent days. He also sent a chilling warning to the former Supreme Leader at the time.
"We know exactly where the so-called 'Supreme Leader' is hiding," Trump claimed. "He is an easy target, but is safe there - We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now."
The President went on to warn that his "patience is wearing thin."
Iran should have listened then. Will they listen now?
