Authorities have released the mugshot of 26-year-old William DeFoor following his arrest for allegedly attempting to break into Vice President JD Vance's Cincinnati home with a hammer.

Looking at the image, it's hard to believe this guy is an adult.

The booking photo, posted by the Hamilton County Justice Center, also lists the charges DeFoor is facing, including vandalism, criminal trespass, criminal damaging or endangering, and obstructing official business.

The attack, reported on by RedState's Nick Arama, unfolded early Monday at Vance's Ohio home, where DeFoor reportedly used a hammer to smash multiple windows in what authorities described as an attempted break-in.

That wide-eyed look says it all.

Cincinnati police and Secret Service agents responded swiftly to reports of the vandalism, arriving at the scene to detain the man without further incident. No one was injured, as Vance and his family had already left for Washington, D.C. at that time.

DeFoor, according to a spokesperson for the Secret Service, was detained "for causing property damage, including breaking windows on the exterior of a personal residence associated with the Vice President."

He is also accused of damaging a vehicle on the property.

Vice President Vance addressed the incident in a post on X, thanking law enforcement for their swift action while labeling the perpetrator a "crazy person."

He ain't wrong. Again, you can see it in the eyes. I mean, if they combined the DNA of Chunk from "The Goonies" and Ham Porter from "The Sandlot" in a lab somewhere, you'd have something similar to that mugshot.

Additionally, Vance voiced frustration with media outlets for distributing images of the damaged property, questioning the "news value" of such coverage and arguing that it unnecessarily exposes his family's private life.

I appreciate everyone's well-wishes about the attack at our home. As far as I can tell, a crazy person tried to break in by hammering the windows," the vice president wrote.

"One request to the media: we try to protect our kids as much as possible from the realities of this life of public service," Vance added. "In that light, I am skeptical of the news value of plastering images of our home with holes in the windows."

Widely circulated images of his damaged home would no doubt be a tough thing for his three young children to have to process.

As of now, authorities have not publicly disclosed any specific motive for DeFoor's actions. Was this a calculated attack or just some unhinged "crazy" person going on a vandalism spree, as Vance suggests?

DeFoor reportedly has a prior 2024 vandalism conviction for smashing windows at a Cincinnati business, which led to his placement in a court-ordered two-year mental health treatment program in lieu of a traditional conviction.

The investigation remains ongoing. RedState will keep readers updated as events warrant.
