You are Ruled By Those you are not allowed to criticize” – Voltaire
We all know that it is racist to question a President’s Patriotism and sexist to keep and store binders full of underpaid womyns. It’s just that those standards seem to apply to some people, but not to others. Here we see a tear-jerking, heart-tearing example of man’s inhumanity to man*.
the median annual salary for a woman working in Clinton’s office was $15,708.38 less than the median salary for a man, according to the analysis of data compiled from official Senate expenditure reports. The analysis compiled the annual salaries paid to staffers for an entire fiscal year of work from the years 2002 to 2008. Salaries of employees who were not part of Clinton’s office for a full fiscal year were not included. Because the Senate fiscal year extends from Oct. 1 to Sept. 30, Clinton’s first year in the Senate, which began on Jan. 3, 2001, was also not included in the analysis.
But wait! I reported this without playing Name-That-Party first. I actually committed the thoughtcrime of pointing out that a !DEMOCRAT! paid female staffers worse than she did male ones. It’s almost as if she was a part of the !PATRIARCHY!** No, it can’t be man’s inhumanity to man because a Democrat did it. It must be the other way around.
I also seem to remember a lot of talk about certain other presidents. It seems that the neologism “Chimpeachment” came into acceptable media usage during the Presidency of George W. Bush. “Forgive Not” commanded Her Majestic Sureness Lithium Dipstick. Demanding that a president you likely didn’t vote for stand trial for war crimes isn’t racist. Dahlia Lithwick claimed not to be interested in a witch hunt so many times in the column linked above that she reminded me vaguely of Christine O’Donnell. But she didn’t question anyone’s patriotism, and she votes for Democrats. That totally makes it different.
When Barack Obama’s preacher tells us “GXX DXXX the US of KKKA!” this is just a rhetorical flourish. It may hit every note on that particular scale from Low Biden to Harf Flat; but let’s not get bent out of shape over mere words.
Unless, of course, those words get spoken about Barack Obama.
Dana Milbank, who wore blaze-orange hunting gear to make fun of Dick Cheney after VP Cheney accidentally shot a hunting companion***, is wasting no time in castigating anyone who criticizes The Bright and Shining Won. You are ruled by those you are not allowed to criticize. The wannabees and the fluffers are out in full-blown chorus to make sure you remember who Daddy is.
*-There I go again, spewing the Cis-Gender bile.
**-Can you imagine how much that would confuse Andrea Mitchell?
