Maybe that Lasik Surgery I had a couple of years ago didn’t quite take. Maybe I just got shot in the face with a laser for nothing. I say that because I’m looking at both Louis Farrakhan and Paul Krugman and swear that the two men could be twins. OK, just kidding. The two men could be ideological twins. In fact, I respect Farrakhan more. At least when he hates your guts for being White and Middle Class, it comes from his heart and isn’t just his day job.
I notice the confluence between these two unlikely figures because each has recently taken to the media to express their despicable hate speech. Farrakhan, I reiterate, extemporaneously speaks his deracinated mind from his shriveled heart and his iniquitous soul. Krugman, however, writes carefully. He selects his words to reflect the malice towards individuals like myself. He has pickled his views in this hatred the way Korean grocers prepare a jar full of Kim Chi.
Farrakhan spoke in Charlotte, NC and was straight-forward and honest in his hatred. Conservatives and Republicans don’t really believe in Romney. All they see is skin color. Anyone who disagrees with the calm and perspicacious Louis Farrakhan is clearly a fire-breathing, Klan-Rallying, Minority-Lynching !Racist! He explains below.
To begin, the highly controversial Farrakhan accused Republicans of having “overt” racist motives in their opposition to Obama, the country’s first black president. He attacked a political process that he says is controlled by moneyed interests and wants “to keep America white.”
He then resorts to a fairly profound amount of anti-black racism himself to exhort Barack Obama ahead of tonight’s Presidential debate.
The reasoning: “You can’t go out there and beat up on a white man. You’re going to lose the white vote.” He then turned his comments back to the president. “You aren’t going to win any more white votes by being kind and gracious,” he said. “Be a little black.”
I’m certain Will Smith, Bill Cosby and Sidney Poitier would all be stunned to learn that people who behave like gentlemen in public are not being at least a little bit black. Colin Powell, hired as Secretary of State by President Bush II, certainly has the hang of being diplomatic and still making his points. Farrakhan, in his desire to call out Mitt Romney and all Republicans as !Racists!, just accused any African-American who knows how to show good manners when talking to white people of not being authentically black. Blowback anyone?
It would be unfair (and perhaps even !racist!) to imply Rev. Farrakhan was the only leftist out there spewing detestable hate speech. Paul Krugman continued his descent into ideologically driven Cro-Magnonism by accusing Mitt Romney of being in favor of killing people because he doesn’t want the government to subsidize their health care. He unleashes his class-warfare shtick from atop the penthouse of the liberal intelligentsia below.
So let’s be brutally honest here. The Romney-Ryan position on health care is that many millions of Americans must be denied health insurance, and millions more deprived of the security Medicare now provides, in order to save money. At the same time, of course, Mr. Romney and Mr. Ryan are proposing trillions of dollars in tax cuts for the wealthy. So a literal description of their plan is that they want to expose many Americans to financial insecurity, and let some of them die, so that a handful of already wealthy people can have a higher after-tax income.
So let’s see if I have Paul Krugman’s moral gravamen straight here.
1) Poor people can’t afford all the health care they need.
2) Taking more money from the wealthy to buy them this health care would be ideal.
3) If you disagree with point #2 and argue instead that rich people create more wealth when they invest their agglomerated capital in job creation activities driven by the private sector, you don’t really care whether poor people Die! Die! DIE! The idea that poor people have a responsibility to elevate themselves and take care of their own health insurance is tantamount to heresy.
So let’s be brutally honest here to Mr. Krugman. There are a lot of ways to get poor people better health care. A lot of them involve removing government-driven disincentives from the health care market so that the cost of insuring a family of four doesn’t skyrocket by 9% a year under Glorious and Omnipotent ObamaCare. But these sorts of reforms would defeat Paul Krugman’s actual purpose. Making health care cheaper for poor people has nothing to do with it. The goal here is to control and dispense with other people’s wealth.
It’s fine line between being a Liberal reincarnation of Robin Hood and a Socialist Imitation of The Sheriff of Nottingham. Paul Krugman has crossed over. He now cares more about destroying the wealthy than he does about helping the poor. The same way Louis Farrakhan cares more about insulting Whites than he does about lifting up Blacks and other minorities. That’s probably why I’m rubbing my eyes and wondering why those two brothers look almost identical to me.
