Senate candidate Peggy Flanagan (D-MN) nearly pulled a hamstring while competing in the virtue-signaling Olympics in a video posted to Somali TV's YouTube channel Thursday.

In one of the more bizarre scenes, Flanagan spoke at a mall while wearing a hijab, addressing the Somali community even as they are embroiled in a fraud scandal that some observers estimate may have cost as much as $9 billion.

The clip notes that Flanagan was visiting businesses in the community and that "Somali leaders welcomed Peggy Flanagan's support," adding that they "knew the difference between leaders who stood by Somalis and those who turned away when they needed their support."

Yes, because pointing out that bank robbers just robbed a bank is "turning away" from them.

“Salam Alaikum. My name’s Peggy Flanagan. I am the Lieutenant Governor of Minnesota, and I’m really honored and humbled to be here with all of you today,” she said, hijab firmly in place. “I am incredibly clear that the Somali community is part of the fabric of the state of Minnesota."

Toxic MN AG Keith Ellison Roasted for Celebrating Somali Fraud Crackdown — When It Happened on His Watch

Where to even begin with this assault on sanity? A few observations to start:

Flanagan, if you can believe this, isn't the only Democrat in the Senate race engaging in the ridiculous identity politics clown show. She's going up against Democrat Rep. Angie Craig (MN-2). Craig is running to be "the first lesbian mom ever elected" to the United States Senate.

Flanagan, meanwhile, has boasted to anyone that will listen how she is “the first Native American woman to chair a national party committee in history," telling voters that her name means "speaks in a loud and clear voice woman" in Ojibwe.

She also bragged on her campaign website about being a member of the White Earth Nation.

One has to wonder how the Somali community to which she was prostrating herself on Christmas Day would feel about her pro-trans t-shirt. Or if she was wearing a traditional headdress for the White Earth Nation. Flanagan has taken cultural appropriation to an absurd new level.
