Comparing Republicans to Nazis is standard fare for Democrats. This rhetoric has heated up since Trump began running for President, and only increases with each new action he takes to clean up the mess that Democrats (and many Republicans) have left for him.
We’ve all heard about how his immigration policies are only to keep Muslims out of the country. We’ve heard about Mexican children being kept in cages. We’ve all heard of the coming apocalypse every time Trump creates some new policy. Here’s one take:
NATO is in shambles, children are in cages, rampant federal corruption and emoluments violations, donor sponsored environmental deregulation…”
Finally, one Democrat has decided to take it to the next level. Congressman Ruben Gallego (D, AZ-07) warns U.S. Custom Agents about the coming Nuremberg Trials:
If you are a US government official and you are deporting Americans be warned. When the worm turns you will not be safe because you were just following orders. You do not have to take part in illegal acts ordered by this President’s administration.
This threat is based on the Federal government refusing to issue passports for people who were most likely born in Mexico and were given falsified birth certificates by midwives in the area. The refusal to provide passports and begin the deportation process for these people is being completely blamed on Trump, even though the number of passports refused is lower than it has been in the past 6 years. Many more were refused when Bush and Obama were in office.
For months we’ve heard that the reason the Justice Department won’t investigate Hillary’s campaign finances and the Clinton Foundation is that we don’t go after previous leaders like some Banana Republic. Mueller’s investigation is showing us that regardless who is in office, Republicans are always fair game.
The union representing Immigration and Customs Enforcement employees told Fox reporter Alex Pappas:
It should be frightening to every American that a sitting member of Congress would threaten the safety of any person and their family, and incite the public to take acts of violence against them.
Gallego’s statement isn’t really out of the ordinary these days as Democrats continue to ramp up their rhetoric. Those who think they wouldn’t follow though with something like this once they regain the reigns of government (and they will) are fooling themselves.
