LA Mayor Bass Tries to Fix a Pothole, but It Backfires on Her Big Time

Mayor Karen Bass posted something on X on Thursday that got a lot of attention and mockery.

It was a clip showing a journalist/content producer, Simone Boyce, pointing out a pothole on a Los Angeles street, and asking Bass if she could get it fixed. Bass explained what happened next.

Bass described that when they arrived to try to address the pothole, there was a car parked over it. So she explained how they put up signs not to park there, and hoped the person would move his/her car.

What Mayor Bass didn't actually do was fix the pothole before shooting and posting the video to social media.

But, hey, make sure you call 311 so they can make more videos where they don't actually fix the things they're talking about. They got the mayor, the video unit, the pothole-fixing crew, a sign crew, and God knows who else all to tell you about how they're going to do it, but then don't do it. Most people would wait until at least they achieved the alleged goal before putting up such a video. But this is such a liberal thing. The intent is enough. Don't worry that it didn't get there; they mean well.

It's also funny how this video comes out now that Bass is running for reelection to make it look like she's doing something, but then doesn't get it done. I don't think most requests get this level of attention. Then, it looks like she's using city resources to make herself look good during her campaign. Except it fully backfires on her. Who thought this was a good idea to post the video without fixing it? That's a comment on judgment, too.

Community Notes had a note up for a period of time. They had a little fun with how ridiculous the video was, nailing them with a dry retort, "The pothole is not fixed in this video."

Even Democrat Pod Save America's Jon Favreau found this something else.

This added to the general overall take that Bass just doesn't get it, which is one reason she had such trouble from Spencer Pratt during the primary campaign. She may beat Nithya Raman, but only because Raman is even worse. Meanwhile, most of the mess in the city continues, while she tries to argue why people should vote for her.

Now, I will note that after that video went viral and people couldn't stop laughing at Bass, Bass did try to cover herself and did pave over the pothole. At that point, it was a little late.

But what a perfect comment on the bad takes from Bass and liberals in general.
