Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin testified before the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security on Thursday, and he had a particularly fiery exchange with Democrat Rep. Rosa DeLauro (CT-3).
The purple-haired Democrat made a claim about 3,900 children being separated from their families during President Donald Trump's first administration. But Mullin wasn't going to let that go by without a response.
"Don't you point your finger at me!"

A heated congressional hearing erupted into a fierce shouting match between DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin and Dem Rep. Rosa DeLauro over immigration policies and child separation.
Mullin blasted DeLauro as a "hypocrite" for bringing up… pic.twitter.com/gSR2SDrH5q
"450,000 kids were lost during the Biden administration; you didn’t say a word about it,” Mullin retorted, bringing up the huge problem that the Biden team left.
That's when the 83-year-old purple-haired Democrat freaked out. “Mr. Secretary, do not interrupt!” she said, getting angry and jabbing her finger at Mullin.
“Don’t you point your finger at me. Don’t be a hypocrite,” Secretary Mullin scolded DeLauro.
“I will point my finger at you,” DeLauro insisted.
“Don’t you be a hypocrite then. You should be as upset about the 450,000 kids that were lost,” Mullin responded.
“You didn’t say a word about it! For four years, you never said a word!” he replied.
DeLauro flipped out again at that and appealed to the Chair, Rep. Mark Amodei (NV-02), "Could you put him in his place?"
Amodei told her, “Don’t yell at me. I’m the good guy."
“You should be put in your place,” Mullin shot back at DeLauro.
Oof, now that's a mic drop. Don't hold back there, Mr. Secretary. The look on her face was gold.
People loved it.

Amodei then said he would give Mullin more time to make a statement or reply, if he wished, at the end of the questioning. Mullin replied he wasn't going to let people say stuff for sound bites that wasn't true. DeLauro insisted she hadn't lied and that she cared about children.
But the bottom line is that the Biden team lost track of these kids, and it's been the Trump team that has been following up to make sure they are okay.
Mullin has said it's the people whom "Democrats seem to want to defund" who are finding these kids. He explained they'd found about 146,000 kids so far, but they were still trying to find nearly 300,000. He also detailed how some had faced horrific abuse and that they were going to hold people accountable for that.
Not only do we not have that now under Trump, but one of the main reasons we don't is because we finally have security at the border. So we don't have the thousands of kids flooding in, as came in under Joe Biden.
Democrats just want to attack the people who are cleaning up their mess.
