The Democrats have caused quite a mess at airports because they refuse to fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which includes the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
It's a bad situation because the Democrats have placed their own political agenda for illegal aliens and against the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency, over the safety of the American people. Some airports have lines that take hours to get through, and TSA agents aren't being paid. Four hundred agents have quit as a result. Elon Musk stepped up and made a generous offer to pay the salaries of TSA agents, a wonderful move on his part. But the whole of the DHS, including things like the Secret Service and the Coast Guard, all need to be funded for the defense of the American people.
President Donald Trump announced a unique way to help resolve the problem at the airports — having ICE agents deploy to the airport to help out.

He said they would be deployed on Monday. He wasn't kidding.
President Trump says ICE agents will be going to airports on Monday to assist TSA agents amid ongoing DHS shutdown.

Democrats are likely going to lose their minds over that, but the American people will likely welcome it if it can help solve the backup at the airport that the Democrats helped to create.
Trump also put Border Czar Tom Homan in charge. Homan hit the Sunday shows to say that help was on the way. Naturally, CNN's Dana Bash sounded doubtful about the proposition.
NEWS: White House Border Czar Tom Homan confirms President Trump will send ICE agents into airports across the country tomorrow. "We'll have a plan by the end of today what airports we're starting with and where we're sending them," Homan tells @DanaBashCNN. pic.twitter.com/Ue2VNlpKw6

Homan explained that you already had a lot of ICE agents deployed, working at airports, and you had TSA now covering exits. As he noted, ICE certainly could do things like that, freeing up the TSA to handle more specialized tasks, like additional screening, to speed up lines. He said he was talking with the TSA and ICE administrators to work out more ways they can help.
Homan said he obviously thought they needed to prioritize the airports with the longest wait times, and probably the largest airports.
Bash had to put in a little shot about how "well thought out" a plan could be if they're still working it out. Homan said it doesn't take a lot to delegate a law enforcement professional to guard an exit. "These officers are well-trained in security," Homan declared.
Sounds like they have some good help on the way, and Homan has it in hand. That will certainly help the American people, who shouldn't be having to go through the nonsense because of the Democrats' tantrums.
