We reported earlier how Democrat socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14) had a "crash and burn" moment while overseas at the 62nd Munich Security Conference in Germany. Some Republicans, including SecState Marco Rubio, were there as well, but most of the spotlight has been on the Democrats.
AOC has thoughts about higher office in the future. But this kind of effort certainly does not help those pretensions.
AOC is asked if the US should defend Taiwan in the event China invades. Her answer is a word salad disaster that would even make Kamala cringe: pic.twitter.com/jgfMWiSfmE

When you bomb as badly as Kamala Harris with a word salad, you tend to end up with the same results.

This was a throwback to Kamala, as our sister site Twitchy observed.
AOC: “What we are seeking is a return to a rules-based order that eliminates the hypocrisies around when too often in the west we look the other way for inconvenient populations, to act out these paradoxes.”

"What we are seeking is a return to a rules-based order that eliminates the hypocrisies around when too often in the west we look the other way for inconvenient populations, to act out these paradoxes.”
What the heck did she say? There are a lot of words there, not a lot of discernible substance.
But it wasn't just AOC. If she wasn't bad enough, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, whose name has also been bandied about for higher office, decided she was going to top it off with her own problematic comment when asked what victory in Ukraine would look like. She actually said that AOC knew more about foreign policy than she does.
You thought AOC’s implosion on Taiwan was bad? Here’s Gretch getting caught flatfooted on Ukraine, then deferring to AOC on foreign policy! Instant disqualifier pic.twitter.com/uMHTocIyMr

Deferring to AOC? That's a...look. Just not a good one. Why be on such a panel if you don't know foreign policy? Why did Ocasio-Cortez and Whitmer not study up on some of the issues? And even if I had not studied up, I could have provided a better answer than either one of them. And if the point of this was for both of the women to show their foreign policy chops, they certainly blew it big time. They did not help themselves.
But perhaps that's not surprising. Remember how Whitmer handled being at the Trump White House when she didn't seem to want the media to record her being there? This did not go over well for her either, when she tried to hide behind a folder.

Rule #1 of running for president: NEVER say you know less than AOC does. https://t.co/BRldZWRhmI

I'm thinking Vice President JD Vance might look at that panel in Munich and smile at his chances, if it were against either of these two.
