There was a House Judiciary Committee hearing for the testimony of former Special Counsel Jack Smith on Thursday.

As we reported, the Committee Chair Jim Jordan (OH-04) lit Smith up, but good.

But his testimony and the GOP taking him apart weren't the only wild moments of the hearing.

Former Capitol Police Officer Michael Fanone was not having a good day. He was a very unhappy camper when Republican Rep. Troy Nehls (TX-22) said that the head of the Capitol Police and the Capitol Police leadership team on Jan. 6, 2021, had information that there could be a "high propensity for violence," but they didn't adequately address it.

Fanone was sitting in the audience wearing a t-shirt that said "Dropkick Murphys" on the front and "Fighting Nazis since 1996." He coughed, "F**k yourself," in response to Nehls' comment. Jordan then had to say that we didn't need the disruptions, that the time belonged to Nehls, and that the Committee would be in order.

At another point, Fanone gave the finger in the direction of the members of Congress.

It sounded like Nehls scolded Fanone about the finger. Jordan again had to say that the Committee and the audience should come to order.

If that wasn't enough, then Fanone also had some very tense moments with Ivan Raiklin. Raiklin frequently protests the outcome of the 2020 election, and it was clear there was bad blood there from prior discussions. It looked like it was close to getting violent, with Fanone's compatriots having to hold him back, and then the police stepping in.

Fanone was then escorted out, even snapping at a female police officer, telling her not to touch him.

After all that behavior, Democrats still cheered Fanone, the guy who just flipped off and cursed one of their colleagues. Whatever you think of Fanone or Raiklin, the Democrats shouldn't be countenancing such behavior from Fanone in the chamber.

Democratic Rep. Jamie Raskin (MD-08) then blamed Raiklin, calling him "deranged" and asking Jordan to control him.
