There have been a lot of interesting speakers at Turning Point USA's AmFest event over the last few days.

But they had a guest I don't think anyone would have guessed would show up for the event: rapper Nicki Minaj. Minaj became involved with the Trump administration after they joined up over the question of stopping the killing of Christians in Nigeria.

Erika Kirk spoke with her at AmFest, and it was clear she was a strong supporter of the Trump administration.

"I have the utmost respect and admiration for our President...I don't know if he even knows this, but he has given so many people hope that there's a chance to beat the bad guys and to win."

She said he was from Queens like her, so they have something in common.

Then she had some good insight.

"What it's shown me personally, sometimes even in the worst feeling times of your life, you think you're never going to come back from it. But you do. And our president shows that. He's been through every single thing a person could be through - publicly. Having to constantly be lied on. It's not really that funny. Until you're in that person's shoes, that's being lied on, you'll never understand what it feels like. That person is a human being; they have a family that has to read those lies. It's just not fair. [....]

But this Admin is full of people with heart and soul, and they make me proud of them."

She praised both Trump and Vice President JD Vance, saying they had an "uncanny ability" that people relate to.  "When I hear them speak, I know they're one of us," she said. "They have the ability to still connect and be real, and make us feel proud to be American."

Now that's a great assessment of the power of Trump and Vance that the media continually misses.

You also have to think that's brave of her for saying that, knowing it may not go over very well with many people in the music business or even with all of her fans. She's not afraid to say what she believes.

Minaj even took it a couple of steps further, sharing her displeasure with California Gov. Gavin Newsom. We reported how she has verbally skewered him in the past, and she wasn't holding back now, calling him "Newscum."

She said that in a world that doesn't want people to think, we think, and the others who attack and do not, can "stay mad," because they were "angry with themselves," another good assessment.

Minaj said she wasn't ever going to be afraid again of speaking out.

Minaj has almost 26 million followers on X and is considered the highest-ranking female rapper.
