Things have not been going well for Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.
When we last visited the Willis saga, the election case against President Donald Trump had been officially dropped in November. That was after Willis had already been disqualified from the case last year.
While Trump got a big win, Willis still faced trouble. She was finally forced to face questions from a Georgia state Senate committee over her actions in the case.

Willis was not a happy camper as she was grilled by the committee on Wednesday. Among the questions they explored was how much Nathan Wade, the man whom she made a special prosecutor in the case and had a relationship with, had been paid. This was one of the multiple meltdowns.
Fani Willis loses her damn mind when presented with documents showing how much money her office paid her lover Nathan Wade during the witch hunt against President Trump:

Wade said that she didn't review the invoices that Wade submitted, but that she "allowed him to bill 160 hours a week." She claimed he would be the first person in the office every day, and he corrected the behavior of others in the workplace. Why would he need to?
Then she absolutely lost it. "Why don't you investigate how many times they called me the n word?" she ranted. Then she claimed that she didn't review the invoices and had trouble just giving a straight answer as to who did review them.
She reportedly subsequently corrected that answer about 160 hours a week to 160 hours a month, but it shows how much the questioning was throwing her. According to reports, Wade was paid $700,000 for the case for the time he was on it.
Willis got testy again when she was asked about how involved Wade was in meetings.

She said they were going to have to show her what Wade said about it. "I don't really trust you," she said to the committee.
Willis went off the rails at another point, accusing them of "trying to intimidate me."

You think that you're going to intimidate me! You all have been trying to intimidate me for five years, which is why I have not been able to live in my house for five years, because the n word has been written on my house!
She even gets in a shot at Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), saying she wasn't going to "quit in a month." Greene is leaving Congress in January. Willis may not have quit, but she was disqualified, and the case against Trump was dismissed, so maybe she shouldn't be talking.
When she was asked about contact between people on the case and the Jan. 6 Committee, she was vague.
Jan. 6 committee letter: Willis acknowledged a Dec. 17, 2021, letter (with her signature) seeking documents from the Jan. 6 committee; she said she recalled no nonpublic documents being provided and said she has never met Rep. [Bennie] Thompson [the J6 committee chair].
D.C. trip acknowledged, purpose vague: Willis confirmed Wade and staff traveled to Washington and said it was connected to "this investigation," but she said she could not recall the purpose or who they spoke with.
Willis managed to make herself look even worse with this, and that's saying something.
