Great News on Gas Prices

One of the most important questions when it comes to prices is the price of gas.

When that drops, it tends to help a lot of other things come down.

The good news is it's coming down. Even CNN is reporting on it.

"For the first time in 4.5 years, gas prices are averaging $3/gallon nationally," they said, noting prices had hit their lowest levels since 2021. Even more significantly, twenty states are averaging below $2.75. I can verify that this is true in Texas; the price is currently around $2.45.

Oil prices have dropped from $81 three years ago under Joe Biden, now to $59 under President Donald Trump. U.S. production is at "all-time highs," they said, plus OPEC is producing more as well.

This report notes the positive aspects of Trump's "Drill baby, drill" approach, and the price has dropped even lower than what they reported, as production has increased.

U.S. crude oil output rose 44,000 barrels per day during the month to a record 13.84 million bpd, according to EIA data.

Oil output in New Mexico, the second-largest oil-producing state, hit a record 2.351 million bpd, while output from the federal offshore gulf region rose to 1.983 million bpd in September, the highest since February 2020.

Gas Buddy is even now putting the national average at $2.95, and believes there will be continued downward pressure. "A few dozen stations are already offering gas under $2 per gallon, and we could see that number grow as we move further into the holiday season," they said. "It couldn’t come at a better time for Americans—with relief arriving just as the holidays kick off.”

Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) confirmed it was $1.95 in Midwest City, Oklahoma.

I checked Gas Buddy, and he's not kidding.

If your gas is well over $3, look at what the state gas taxes are. The states with the highest average prices: California ($4.51), Hawaii ($4.35), and Washington ($4.09), according to Gas Buddy. Not coincidentally, Democrat states. Vote out your Democrats, and you will do better.

So that's good news going into the future, and likely good news for influencing other prices as well, since so many things include the price of transportation costs. That's going to help with holiday traveling as well.
