One of the main issues produced by the Schumer Shutdown has been how it's affected air traffic.
While air traffic controllers are still required to work, it's making people work without pay. Several of those workers are simply not coming in, and it's putting a real strain on the ability to handle flights. That's troubling.
Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy has already detailed the problems it's been causing and that it's likely to lead to even more chaos if they don't make a deal soon.
Former member of Congress and current candidate for governor of California, Katie Porter, has been trying to up her profile for the race. So she likely thought attacking Duffy and the Trump administration would help her with the Democratic base... but it didn't go well.
Starting with the lie of blaming Trump for the airlines having to cancel flights, when that's on the Democrats for precipitating and prolonging the shutdown. Porter acted as though she was offering up a profound idea to help the situation, while attacking people who had private planes.
NEW: I’m calling on Trump to cancel private jet flights instead of commercial airlines.

Private jet flights often take a single billionaire passenger, but still put real strain on our air traffic control system.

She doesn't know what she's talking about. Sec. Duffy served her up a schooling on the subject, calling her a "hack" in the Fox report, and explaining that commercial planes already had priority. "The priority is the traveling public," Duffy confirmed. He termed Porter's attack, "Nice political theater."
Hopefully Katie doesn’t pour hot mashed potatoes on me for correcting her but… restrictions for private jets are already in place! https://t.co/GluyIbcmq2 pic.twitter.com/xyDng7z0Dc

He also posted the segment on X, "Hopefully Katie doesn’t pour hot mashed potatoes on me for correcting her, but...restrictions for private jets are already in place!"
Now that's a burn, without the potatoes.
His comment was a reference to the report that she allegedly dumped mashed potatoes on her ex-husband. The ex, Matthew Hoffman, recently dished more on her and how bad she was to her own staff. Hoffman alleged that Porter couldn't even get along with Democratic Rep. Nancy Pelosi (CA-11).
She also had some recent viral videos drop that exposed her yelling at a staffer and acting badly in an interview.

Former FAA official Dan Elwell also confirmed that passenger planes would have priority, and called Porter's statement "unfounded."
Porter wants to be governor of California, but she doesn't even grasp the first thing about the issue before launching an unfounded attack. "Join the fight," she said at the end of her video. Join what? Being incredibly wrong? And a pro tip? The video close-ups are not a good idea.
Editor’s Note: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
