The Schumer Shutdown continues, although the Senate will meet again on Sunday afternoon to see if it can make progress on ending it.
On Saturday, Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-OH) put Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) on the grill, asking first if he had something to offer in writing so they could know exactly what they were talking about, and then, if the proposal had income caps on who could get subsidies, or if millionaires would get them.

Moreno asked Schumer if his proposal was in writing that people could look at.. and if people making millions would still receive the… pic.twitter.com/aRxzdYV5Fx
Schumer didn't really answer Moreno's questions, saying Republicans hadn't put something in writing. His squirming in response was quite something, with a lot of double-fisted hand motions.
That response was full of holes, and Moreno wasn't shy about pointing them out.
"So just to be clear, number one, he [Schumer] acknowledged that the Democrats have not put forward a written proposal that people could look at. Number two, he acknowledged that his plan would be to allow millionaires...would receive Biden-era Obamacare COVID Obamacare subsidies. No income cap.
I was going to ask him before he stormed out of the room, because, evidently, he doesn‘t want to hear any opposing views or actually engage in meaningful negotiation. [....]
Would he continue zero dollar premiums, which we know for a fact, have enormous levels of fraud...If he had stayed, I would have asked him a third question: Does he want these monies to go directly to insurance companies?"
Moreno emphasized that the money doesn't go directly to the people; it goes to the insurance companies. So he listed: no income caps, millionaires getting COVID subsidies, zero-dollar premiums filled with fraud, and Schumer wants to make insurance companies even richer. And I'd add to that: without solving the problems raised by Obamacare in the first place.

Schumer wouldn't answer simple questions and stormed out, yet he spoke about Moreno protecting billionaires. Seems like that's the pot calling the kettle black there. He said they should agree to extend it, and they'd negotiate what Moreno was talking about later. That's exactly how we got stuck in this mess to begin with, with Obamacare. Democrats shoved it through, without Republicans, and this shutdown has exposed how unaffordable the "Affordable Care Act' truly is. This is like "You have to pass it to know what's in it." He wants it passed first without even answering such questions. That's nuts, yet Democrats are claiming it's the Republicans who don't want to negotiate.
Vital exchange. @berniemoreno goes hard in the paint 👏 https://t.co/ZeBpWhxyS2

Incredibly important exchange here.

Democrats’ entire shutdown strategy RELIES on people not finding out what is in their proposal.
It’s worse than “pass the bill to find out what’s in it” because they don’t even have a bill.
So Schumer storms off after being questioned. https://t.co/c7PflXtwce
Editor’s Note: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
