Watch: Dana Bash Flips Out at Trump Comment About CNN, Refuses to Read It

I think it's fair to say that President Donald Trump doesn't think very highly of CNN. That's no secret.

They've always protested and claimed objectivity. Who can forget then-CNN employee Chris Cillizza assuring us that reporters don't root for a side back in 2016?

Of course, that's nonsense. But if that were true, then CNN should just be able to report the news, as it is, without excising anything or putting their spin on it, right?

Not so much. Let's watch as CNN's Dana Bash is so offended by Trump's criticism of CNN that she refuses to read it live on the air. It was part of his criticism of NPR and PBS.

Trump’s Truth Social post said, “It is very important that all Republicans adhere to my Recissions [sic] Bill and, in particular, DEFUND THE CORPORATION FOR PUBLIC BROADCASTING (PBS and NPR), which is worse than CNN & MSDNC put together. Any Republican that votes to allow this monstrosity to continue broadcasting will not have my support or Endorsement.”

Bash read the whole thing aloud on “Inside Politics,” except for the phrase “which is worse than CNN & MSDNC put together.” Instead, she said, “I’m not even going to read that,” and skipped it.

That's pretty funny that the criticism of CNN upsets her so. So much for objectivity or being able to take criticism. Here's a thought: be a better network. Maybe then you wouldn't get the criticism.

She also claimed that "rural communities rely on public broadcasting still." She also said, "Such a good point" when Puck Congressional Correspondent Abby Livingston suggested getting rid of federal funding for PBS and NPR could adversely impact rural communities.

Again, this is an odd perception that rural communities are so dependent on PBS and NPR, when there are many other options for information from phones to Starlink.

It's a bizarre take that no one is buying, but Democrats keep going there. As I wrote yesterday, Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) just wrecked that take from NPR head Katherine Maher.

Plus, Livingston says the quiet part out loud, that Democrats think by pushing this talking point - that somehow the GOP is taking something away from people - they will "lose less badly." That's what it's always about with them - how they can spin things to help them win.

People weren't buying it.
