We just got the joyful news that New Jersey native Edan Alexander, the last living American hostage being held by Hamas, has now been freed.

They're going to make a quick medical assessment of his condition to determine what care he needs. Then, he will be taken to an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) base where his parents wait for him. From there, he will go to a medical facility to undergo additional treatment. An Israeli official reportedly said he was in poor condition, but now he can finally get some real care, and they said he was "smiling" that he was coming home.

As we previously reported, Hamas said it was releasing him as a "goodwill gesture" to try to end the war. If they had any "goodwill," they wouldn't have invaded Israel to begin with, massacred people, and held Alexander for so long.

The folks in his hometown of Tenafly, New Jersey, came out to cheer the news.

His family expressed gratitude to President Donald Trump, Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff, and all the people who helped to free him.

Hopefully, in the arms of his loving family, Edan can heal quickly from his ordeal and the remaining hostages will also soon be freed.

Team Trump has been thinking outside the box, and it’s refreshing after four years of Biden malaise.
