The ladies on "The View" seem to have an ongoing problem: having to clean up the things that they say.
Hence, the clarifications and the occasional reading of "legal notes."
But Joy Behar may have just stepped in it big time in an effort to attack Elon Musk. Then she may have made it worse with her attempted "clarification."
First, she claimed that President Donald Trump isn't bright enough to handle the job, so is relying on Musk. Then just like Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-OH), who attacked Musk for only being a citizen for "22 years," Joy attacked Musk for "not being born in this country," and questioned whether he entered legally. They are such hypocrites.

Behar really went over the slide, claiming Musk was born under apartheid in South Africa, "so has that mentality." "He was pro-apartheid, as I understand it," she claimed.
🚨 SHOT and CHASER.

Joy Behar falsely claimed on the View today that Elon Musk supported apartheid in South Africa.
Later in the show, she attempted to walk back her comments admitting that she didn't know if they were true and said "don't be suing me, okay, Elon?" pic.twitter.com/f9pajFjlc4
She later had to clarify, saying she was "getting some flack for saying Musk was pro-apartheid."
That's when she really dug it deeper, "I don't really know for sure if he was." Then why did you say it, when you are now admitting you had no idea what you were saying? Could we talk about anything worse? And how bad does that says she is? She just admitting she'll say something, whether she knows it's true or not.
Behar backpedaled and pleaded with Elon not to sue her, "Maybe he was, Maybe he wasn't. He might have been a young guy too. So, don't be suing me, okay, Elon?"
This is a despicable tactic. Can we talk about the concept of "reckless disregard" for the truth?
How much work does it take to figure out that Elon left South Africa as a teenager to go to Canada for college? So yes, he was a "young guy"; he's not responsible for being born into a bad situation.
But according to his father, Elon was anti-apartheid. Moreover, one of his biographers said one of the reasons Musk left was because he didn't want to be forced to fight for the apartheid regime. Hardly "pro-apartheid." Yet, Joy isn't the first person on the left to suggest this, which is just vile.
Behar said "'they' are allowed to say any lie they want," but "we have to be really strict and that's why this show is important." That's delusional. If you were "really strict," you wouldn't keep getting in these situations and having to "clarify" what you say. You wouldn't keep buying yourself trouble.

Many on X encouraged Musk to sue. We'll have to see what he does; he tends to let a lot roll off his back and he has many people attacking him. But this kind of thing has to stop.
