I reported earlier about the virtual signaling by Sheryl Crow, saying she sold her Tesla because of "President Musk", and was donating the proceeds to NPR. She posted a video about it on Instagram. But as FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr observed, she was accidentally proving Elon Musk's point on government spending. If people want to keep NPR on the air, why should the federal government be paying anything to keep the liberal outlet going? People like Crow can keep it going, with their own donations.

It's just wild that people fall for this narrative -- that there's something bad about auditing the government for fraud, waste, and abuse. I get how you might differ on the worth/decision to cut something, but how could you object to the overall concept?
That said, apparently they did manage to organize some protests via the Bluesky platform to protest at various Tesla store locations. They're hoping if they pressure Tesla, Tesla will then pressure Elon to step back from politics. But Elon is pretty popular with Tesla investors. And on the level of typical leftist protests these were pretty sad. Very few people showed up -- looked like mostly old liberals.
Here's NYC in the Meatpacking District, calling for people to "Overthrow the Oligarchs." I counted maybe 30 people that they were able to get out, with pre-made signs, in very blue Manhattan.
Warning for graphic language:
The attacks are so dumb.
"He's unelected" (so are most people who are government employees, including the people the left doesn't want checked). "Stop the coup," they chanted.
Musk is operating at the behest of the duly-elected president -- the guy who 77 million people voted for, while saying he was going to appoint Musk to do this. DOGE is part of the Executive Office of the President. It was started as the U.S. Digital Service to look into waste under Barack Obama. Trump just renamed it. Musk is a "special government employee."
So how can there it be a "coup" or "oligarchs," if it's the actions of the employee of the duly-elected president?
Indeed, it's the Democrats and such actions that seem to be trying to obstruct the actions of the duly-elected president.
The protesters in NYC even yelled at shoppers in the Tesla store and gave them the finger. There was also a sticker on the window that said "Kill Elon" -- I'm thinking the police might want to be looking into that one, and who was behind that. But it's all crazy.
In addition to the fact that what the protesters think really has no substance, they have another "small" problem.
They had about 12 people in Georgetown, where they got mocked.

"Little" protest is right, even in Austin, where there are a ton of leftists.

Can I laugh any more at this? What this all reveals is how few people even on the left are on board with this protest effort, even in some of the places that are deep blue enclaves.
The Verge reported how some have gotten out of hand, apart from the protests.
It has led to vandalism in some cases. Social media is rife with images of Tesla vehicles defaced with swastikas or slapped with stickers of Musk throwing a fascist salute at Trump’s inauguration. Earlier this month, police in Arcata, Cali., received several reports of Tesla owners finding threatening notes on their cars, warning them to sell their cars or risk the consequences. “No Nazis in America,” several of the fliers read, according to local reports.
So, I'm not going to laugh at that. That's the typical left -- they can't handle any ideas other than their own, everything else is "Nazi."
The Verge also noted Elon has widespread shareholder support. And this type of thing is only likely to make him more determined to get the job done.
Meanwhile, as we reported, polls and a recent, Arizona focus group are showing people think things are going in the right direction with Trump.

It doesn't look like the "narrative" is working.
