Actor Alec Baldwin was in New York at a coffee shop when he ran into a woman who began to harass him, heckling him over and over to say "Free Palestine."
First, she began harassing him about the killing of Halyna Hutchins, '"Why did you kill that lady? You killed that lady and got no jail time."
Baldwin is currently facing involuntary manslaughter charges in the death of Hutchins. Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the armorer [the person who takes care of the guns] has already been convicted of involuntary manslaughter and was sentenced to 18 months in the matter earlier this month. Baldwin has pleaded not guilty and his trial is currently scheduled for July.

But then she kept pressing him to say "Free Palestine" and she would leave him alone. "I'll leave you alone, I swear, just say free Palestine one time."
"F**k Israel, f**k zionism, please say it," she continued. "Please, one
He wouldn't do it and asked the coffee shop people to call the police.
But she kept after him, and then he appeared to smack her phone in response.
There was no reported comment from Baldwin yet on the matter.
The video was posted from an account, Crackhead Barney and Friends, with the comment, "White devil Alec Baldwin attacked me While I was trying to get coffeee."
The Community Note from X noted that Baldwin had not been convicted of any crime yet, termed the language "racist" and said it would be reported.
The reaction to the exchange on X was interesting with many people who are not fans of Baldwin expressing some support for him having to deal with this person.
Megyn Kelly declared herself "Team Baldwin" in this matter.
Clay Travis said he thought that Baldwin was "fairly chill" under the circumstances. "Shoving phones in people’s faces and walking around filming them while demanding they repeat your favored political slogans isn’t normal or commendable behavior. The recorder is the bad guy here."
Adam Carolla said, "You know you’re crazy when you make Alec Baldwin seem chill," and told the person to "Get a life."
Journalist Yashar Ali said that nothing would be changed by her insisting that he say it, even if she managed to make him say ti. "This isn’t activism; it’s just gross behavior targeting someone who has no policy-making power and hasn’t even been outspoken on the situation in Israel/Gaza," he said.
Ali is right on the money, she just managed to add to the perception we already have about these people and how they go about things, she doesn't make their cause sound any more appealing by doing what she did. But she did manage to do something that many might have thought impossible -- to at least momentarily help people to have some sympathy for Baldwin.
