DNC Files FEC Complaint Against RFK Jr. And Super PAC, RFK and Dean Phillips Just Level Them in Response

I think one of the most ridiculous things that the Democrats have thrown out this election season is their claim that somehow they are the "defenders of democracy."

Let's leave aside for the moment that they often don't seem to understand the difference between the "pure democracy" (i.e. mob rule) that our Founders specifically rejected and our Constitutional Republic. But they also aren't very "democratic" either.

Now, the Democratic National Committee (DNC), after the incredible disaster they had this week with Joe Biden and the report of the Special Counsel, is turning their attention to Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Kennedy is likely to take away Democrat votes from Joe Biden in the general election by attracting Dems who want an alternative to Biden.

On Friday, the DNC filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission (FEC), complaining Kennedy's campaign was illegally coordinating with his American Values 2024 super PAC. They alleged he was improperly benefiting from the group to get his name on the ballot in all 50 states.

The complaint, filed Friday with the Federal Election Commission (FEC), claims that the American Values 2024 super PAC’s practice of hiring signature-gathering vendors and assisting Kennedy in getting on the ballot in key battleground states constitutes a violation of federal election rules. The DNC cited Michigan and Illinois, which have guidelines set barring those outside of the campaign from gathering ballot signatures.

RFK wasn't taking that lying down.

“After the day they had yesterday, it’s understandable they’d want to put the focus on someone else,” Kennedy wrote Friday in the post. “The DNC is in no position to assert morality over anyone — they refused to have a primary and have worked against the will of the people in the past few elections. It’s sad to see the party my family built crash and burn.”

Translation: The Democrats don't like when their power is threatened.

The head of the Super PAC, Tony Lyons, also ripped the DNC, saying the PAC was working independently and accused the DNC of "rigging" elections while claiming they just wanted “to stifle any dissenting opinions” because they fear Biden couldn't win “a free, open and fair election.”

“This FEC complaint is just another desperate DNC attempt to defame Kennedy, vilify him and drain his campaign funds,” he wrote. “The American people are too smart to be fooled by these political games.”

Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN), who is challenging Biden in the Democratic primaries, also decimated the Democrats and Biden with a little reality on this, saying they shouldn't be trying to "suppress" the competition.

The Democratic National Committee actively obstructs Democrats and Independents from ballot access - bleeding campaigns dry with lawsuits and absurd “signature requirements”.

I’ve had to spend ~$2m to successfully overcome their barriers in 40+ states so far.

Democrats should win by appealing to our country, not suppressing our competition.

What does it say about your candidate when you have to try to suppress/knock out the competition rather than face them in the election where the American people get to decide? It doesn't say that you think very much of your candidate. And, of course, there are a lot of reasons for that.

The Democrats likely know their chances of losing went up substantially this week.
