During Joe Biden's speech on Thursday night to the nation, he seemed to want to convince Americans about giving $60 billion more to Ukraine, by comparing it to the situation in Israel. He spent more time talking about Ukraine, aid for the Palestinians, and Islamophobia than he did about the attack on Israel, or the Americans killed and still being held hostage by Hamas. 

Biden also spent more time promoting himself, talking about how he went into war zones in Israel and Ukraine, and how he was in Kyiv when the "sirens were going off."  As we've noted before, that was more of a photo op for him since there was no attack underway while that was happening. It's a horrible thing to say, but this was also about trying to pump himself up, to look like a leader, since he's tanking so badly in the polls. 

But the speech didn't work. It was almost universally panned, with many noting how old and diminished he appeared as well. It didn't exactly strike fear into our enemies. 

Biden trying to ward the bad actors off with his "Don't, don't, don't," warning not to take advantage of the Israeli-Hamas war is being disregarded by the bad actors. As he was preparing for his speech last night, there were attacks on U.S. forces in Iraq. Some of the American forces were also injured on Wednesday by drone attacks. 

So what is Joe Biden doing on Friday as Americans are being attacked and held hostage? 

He's going to a campaign reception in D.C. at 6 p.m. and then he's off on yet another vacation, back to his beach house in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. There doesn't appear to be anything related to the current crisis on his public schedule. 

Biden headed to the beach today. No press briefing on the schedule.

I'm not sure that there's ever been anyone so bad at this job or how he should be acting. But it certainly does show what his priorities are. He didn't place Americans first in his speech last night and he doesn't seem to be caring very much about them now. We're going on 13 days now in terms of the hostages, and the prospects of getting them out will dim if he doesn't get them out before the Israelis start the invasion. 

What has he done so far? He's revealed the faces of the Delta Forces guys and left their faces exposed for hours, putting them and their mission at risk. That's how incompetent the Biden team is at this point. He shouldn't be going anywhere until they are all home.
