That story about the carjacking of the Minnesota Democratic politician just took another wild turn.
We reported how Shivanthi Sathanandan, the Second Vice Chair of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, said in a Facebook post that she had been carjacked and beaten in front of her young children in the driveway of her Minneapolis home. She said that she had sustained a broken leg, as well as other cuts and bruises. Then she ranted about the attackers, whom she described as four young armed men, and demanded that they needed to be held accountable for their actions.
Sathanandan thanked the police in her Facebook post about the attack. That seemed to be a big change of heart, given that she had previously called for the dismantling of the Minneapolis Police Department in 2020 during the BLM riots. It's important to understand that businesses were being destroyed and people were being killed, while she was advocating this. It seemed that she thought they should be done away with but suddenly, has now realized the utility of the police when it comes to her situation.
Some questioned whether the story was real, raising questions about things like the blood on her face in the picture. According to the police report, they did refer to her as a "victim" and say in the report that she had "possible internal injury, other major injury." They also said there was another victim, as well as two eyewitnesses. Sathanandan reported that neighbors had come to her aid during the attack.
However, there was also an unconfirmed report that she complained about the response time of the police, that it took five minutes for them to arrive, which seems like a pretty good response time for a city police department. But imagine being upset about response time when you advocated to get rid of the police three years ago.
Now, there's a further report from Townhall's Julio Rosas that raises more issues.
Warning for coarse language.
A Minneapolis law enforcement source tells me officers in the 4th precinct are being encouraged to patrol Sathanandan’s neighborhood when not responding to calls.

“Now she wants extra police presence? She can eat the largest bag of dicks,” the source added. https://t.co/JEEiUhItTV
According to Rosas:
A Minneapolis law enforcement source tells me officers in the 4th precinct are being encouraged to patrol Sathanandan’s neighborhood when not responding to calls.“Now she wants extra police presence? She can eat the largest bag of di**s,” the source added.
This is both hilarious and incredibly hypocritical. She didn't want the people of Minneapolis to have police three years ago. But now, she thinks she deserves extra security for herself if what this law enforcement source is saying is true. Security for me, who cares about security for thee? And the police source doesn't hold back with what the source thinks about all this. It doesn't sound like the police are complying with the request, if the source's response is any indication. If they did provide more security based on a political request, that would be a big problem too.
Sounds like that body cam footage of the police responding to the incident is going to be very interesting when it comes out, given everything we've heard so far.
