Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is having a meltdown over a parody account that’s using her name. She tweeted warning her followers to “be careful of what you see.”

FYI there’s a fake account on here impersonating me and going viral. The Twitter CEO has engaged it, boosting visibility.

It is releasing false policy statements and gaining spread.

I am assessing with my team how to move forward. In the meantime, be careful of what you see.

That’s pretty hilarious that she’s so upset about a marked parody account because she thinks people are listening to it rather than to her. AOC’s real account also has a gray checkmark because she’s a government official. Of course, the reason that people might believe the parody account is that AOC’s real account says things that are so wild and so close to parody, it’s sometimes hard to tell the difference.

For example:

It is completely believable that AOC might say that since it seems to match with her socialist position of wanting to spend us into oblivion. If she’s worried that people will mistake a parody account for her, what does that say about her ideas? And what does that say about her followers if they would fall for it? Maybe she should think about that a little bit.

AOC is “assessing with my team how to move forward.” Seriously? You think you’re going to be able to stop a parody account, that’s completely within the terms of service of Twitter and marked parody? Or does she think she’s just going to scare the account with that remark? That comment just makes her look silly and like she can’t take a joke.

AOC is upset that Elon Musk also responded to the account, claiming that it boosted the visibility of the account. This isn’t the first time that she’s flipped out at Elon Musk. Here’s what Elon said in response to the parody account when it said it had a crush on Musk.

There’s a running joke on the platform about them being an item. They’re not, because Musk has more than a little bit of sense.

But what AOC doesn’t seem to understand is that by throwing a hissy fit over the account, she just raised its visibility as well. Her tweet has almost eight million views now, with most people mocking her for not being able to take a joke. Now even more people on the right who hadn’t seen it before are following the parody account because of her complaint. So she just made things worse for herself. She is not the sharpest tool in the drawer.

AOC’s complaint also gave the parody account more material to mock, which shows how bad AOC is at this game.

AOC also got ratioed into next week for her hissy fit.

But this is what AOC is concerned about instead of doing her job — she’s more concerned that people dare to mock her. That’s so like a Democrat. Is she a member of Congress trying to shut down speech because it criticizes her? That’s also a potential problem. But again, she’s not exactly bright. This might possibly be one of the most ridiculous things AOC has ever said, and that’s saying something.
