I’ve been talking about the polls, and every time I do, I add the caveat that it’s very early, so who knows what they will ultimately mean for the election in 2024? And keep in mind: They tend to favor Democrats.
But the polls have not been good for Joe Biden, which perhaps says a lot. As we saw this past week, even CNN was admitting there was a big problem with Biden’s numbers when 74 percent of Americans think the country under Biden is going in the wrong direction.
But now the left is flipping out over an NBC poll that maybe has an even tougher number for Biden: that about 70 percent of Americans don’t want him to run again.

On top of that, his approval numbers are still in the basement. But a further killer number is his number with independents.
NBC: Just 41% of Americans approve of Biden — "driven by the 58% of Americans who disapprove of how he is handling the economy."

Just 41 percent of Americans approve of Biden — “driven by the 58% of Americans who disapprove of how he is handling the economy.”
“Just 30% of independents approve of the job Biden is doing,” NBC’s Chuck Todd says. I think it’s safe to say that’s going to hurt, big time, in the election.
It gets worse.
NBC POLL, among Democrats:
☝️ "53% of 2020 Biden voters say he shouldn’t run"
☝️ "64% of Democrats who voted for Sanders or Warren in the 2020 primaries think he shouldn’t run"

“53% of 2020 Biden voters say he shouldn’t run,” Todd said. “64% of Democrats who voted for Sanders or Warren in the 2020 primaries think he shouldn’t run. 76% of voters under 35 think he shouldn’t run.”
Now while the poll also dings Trump, saying 60 percent don’t want him to run, one would expect a liberal media poll to do that. You wouldn’t expect it to do in Biden. The poll cites “age” in both cases, with Trump at 76. But in the matter of Joe Biden, he suffers from a serious mental competence problem, in addition to his policies being bad. As Todd also notes, the Republicans are rallying behind Trump, with nearly 70 percent of Republican voters standing behind Trump after the indictment and the efforts against him. Biden doesn’t have anywhere near that kind of support from the Democrats. Plus, the numbers also look bad for Biden in terms of who they would ultimately choose in the general election.
The NBC News survey finds a combined 41% of registered voters saying they’d definitely or probably vote for Biden in the general election, versus 47% who say they’d vote for the eventual Republican nominee.
So what does all this mean? Are they trying to discourage Biden from declaring? Perhaps, but it may be too late and the problem is that they don’t have anyone to replace him with. All their “backbenchers” have huge issues, which is why I think the Democratic powers that be behind the scenes have decided to go with Joe. Once he does declare, the media will all rally around him again. It’s also intriguing that they’ve dumped Susan Rice — the big Obama connection they had still there, who some thought was operating as a conduit behind the scenes for Obama team input. Is that the indication that Joe Biden thinks he can fly this plane alone? He can’t even read a teleprompter or understand a simple question from a child.
The bottom line is that Republicans need to be pounding home all the deficits of Biden, how much he has hurt the country, and how his decisions/policies are gravely endangering the nation.
