Rashida Tlaib Throws Support to Group That Rioted Against Police in Atlanta and Faces Charges of Domestic Terrorism

We’ve seen over the past year (before the midterms), Democrats trying to run away from their “defund the police” mantra. But now that the election is over, the leftist wing is back with their anti-police rhetoric in full force.

But Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) and Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) took it to the extreme with their anti-police tweets regarding the Atlanta Antifa shooting where an “activist” allegedly shot a cop and then was shot and killed by police in self-defense.

Bush highlighted a claim made by the family of Manuel “Tortuguita” Teran, that the activist was “assassinated in cold blood.” Bush refers to Teran as “their” because Teran allegedly identified as “non-binary.”

Tlaib then echoed that call, saying she demanded “justice for Tortuguita. I stand with the forest protectors righteously fighting Cop City.”

There is no evidence to support that this was a bad shoot at all. Police have been very open and had consistent statements on the matter from the start. Yet Bush is promoting this falsehood against the police. The investigation is ongoing. But the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, which is looking into the matter, has said that the gun that was found on Teran was legally purchased by him and the bullets matched the wounds found on the injured officer. So that sounds pretty open and shut.

Meanwhile, the radical “forest defender” group that Tlaib falsely claims has been “righteously fighting Cop City” has been wrongly occupying property that isn’t theirs. They’ve been involved in violent actions against the police and residents for months. The shooting was only the latest incident — they’ve been charged with multiple incidents of domestic terrorism. The group allegedly tossed Molotov cocktails at cops in May and in December, they were found with explosives when the police tried to clear them out. They also allegedly threw a “gas bomb” at a man’s car, and he said he was lucky to be alive afterward.

Then came the shooting in which the officer was critically injured, allegedly by Teran.

What was the response of the group? Let’s threaten the police and call for a “night of rage” of violence against the police.

Antifa rioters then came out and attacked the Atlanta Police Foundation, and set a police car on fire.

Here’s what one of the related Twitter accounts posted about another attack supporting them in Portland, Oregon. The account also admits “Tortuguita died trying to kill a cop.”

The account also threatened other cops, “Fire to the earth destroyers until every cop is dead and all they defend is burnt to ashes.”

This is the group that Rashida Tlaib is calling “righteously fighting Cop City.”

I’ll also point out that in the wake of the shooting, the child of Rep. Katherine Clark (D-MA), the House Democratic Whip Rep, was arrested and charged with assaulting a cop. In an action supporting the Atlanta group, Jared “Riley” Dowell, 23 was defacing a monument in Boston with graffiti saying “Stop Cop City” and “ACAB” (All Cops Are Bastards). When the police tried to arrest him, about 20 other members of the group there tried to interfere in the arrest and a cop was injured. Dowell was charged with assault by means of a dangerous weapon, destruction or injury of personal property, and Damage of Property by Graffiti/Tagging.

This is the group that Democrats are now supporting.
