We may be in uncharted territory here. After everything that the Clintons have done in their lives, there’s finally an official finding that is holding them accountable. I’m not sure that I ever thought I would see the day, but here we are — and it’s a significant finding on behalf of the truth.

The Federal Election Commission (FEC) has fined the DNC and the Hillary Clinton campaign for lying about th funding behind the Steele dossier that they used to try to spread the Russia collusion hoax. The dossier was then used to smear Donald Trump and fuel an FBI investigation that surveilled the Trump team. There probably has not been anything in history that has been so wrong and so damaging to the country against a political opponent.

This may be the first official government finding holding the Democrats and Clinton responsible for the lie that so damaged the country and was an unprecedented attack on their political opponent, paying for foreign disinformation — the very thing they accused Trump of trying to do. They were behind the real ‘collusion’ and ‘interference’ in the election with their actions.

The election agency said that Clinton and the DNC violated strict rules on describing expenditures of payments funneled to the opposition research firm Fusion GPS through their law firm.

A combined $1,024,407.97 was paid by the treasurers of the DNC and Clinton campaign to law firm Perkins Coie for Fusion GPS’s information, and the party and campaign hid the reason, claiming it was for legal services, not opposition research.

Instead, the DNC’s $849,407.97 and the Clinton campaign’s $175,000 covered Fusion GPS’s opposition research on the dossier, a basis for the so-called “Russia hoax” that dogged Trump’s first term.

The Coolidge Reagan Foundation filed a complaint three years ago, and the finding was just announced to the Foundation, although their official finding wouldn’t be published for a month. Dan Backer, who brought the complaint, celebrated the finding.

“This may well be the first time that Hillary Clinton — one of the most evidently corrupt politicians in American history — has actually been held legally accountable, and I’m proud to have forced the FEC to do their job for once. The Coolidge Reagan Foundation proved that with pluck and grit, Americans who stand with integrity can stand up to the Clinton machine and other corrupt political elites.” [….]

Backer, with Washington’s Chalmers & Adams law firm, held out hope for further action against the former first lady. He said, “Hillary Clinton and her cronies willfully engaged in the greatest political fraud in history — destroying our nation’s faith in the electoral process, and it’s high time they were held accountable. I hope this is only the beginning.”

The FEC fined the Clinton Campaign treasurer $8,000, and the DNC treasurer $105,000.

Now, that doesn’t sound like much in the context of the great harm that they did, which is immeasurable. There are still Democrats who believe the lie. The country spent millions on the hoax. Trump himself had to take so much money and time to deal with it. But the monetary fine for the Democrats and the Clinton team is secondary to the importance of the finding.

The Clinton team and the Democrats won’t be able to argue away the finding. They did it, they lied, and here’s the proof. Can we now hope that there might be more coming out of the Durham probe? We have seen indictments there, and the likelihood that more may be on the way, according to former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe. Can we hold out hope there may yet be charges for the big names here?

Further, it should be noted that Trump has filed a lawsuit over the dossier against Clinton and the Democrats. So this finding could factor into that as well, favorably, for Trump.
