That Reprehensible Biden Iran Deal Just Got Worse

We’ve been telling you some of the very bad aspects of the new Iran Deal that Joe Biden is negotiating. It’s worse than the prior deal. They have Russia involved in negotiating the deal and they’re lifting all kinds of sanctions on the bad guys in Iran. The Russian negotiator was even bragging about how well Iran was doing in the deal, that they got far more than they expected.

But it gets worse.

Russian and Iranian documents translated for the Washington Free Beacon show that Rosatom, Russia’s leading energy company, has a $10 billion contract with Iran’s atomic energy organization to expand Tehran’s Bushehr nuclear plant. Russia and the Biden administration confirmed on Tuesday that the new nuclear agreement includes carveouts that will waive sanctions on both countries so that Russia can make good on this contract.

The Biden administration confirmed this.

“We, of course, would not sanction Russian participation in nuclear projects that are part of resuming full implementation of the JCPOA,” State Department spokesman Ned Price confirmed on Tuesday, referring to the original 2015 nuclear accord.

Even Sergei Lavrov appears to be confirming it, almost bragging.

Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov says that Moscow has received guarantees from the US on its ability to trade with Tehran as part of ongoing talks to salvage the Iran nuclear deal.

“We received written guarantees. They are included in the text of the agreement itself on the resumption of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on the Iranian nuclear program,” Lavrov tells reporters during a press conference with his Iranian counterpart in Moscow.

Trump sanctions on Iran were blocking Russians from getting money on this deal. But now if this goes through, Russia would immediately get $500 million that had been held up, with billions more to come. For helping build a nuclear site. Talk about incredible.

U.S. lawmakers are calling the deal a “sanctions evasion hub.”

So what are the sanctions against Russia worth if you have all the carveouts? The Biden team claims they’re cutting them off and they’re making Russia a pariah. even as they’re handing them tons of money like this. They’re undermining their own claimed effort to cut Russia off.

Why is Biden so willing to throw everything under the bus for this deal, just as Barack Obama was, especially when the deal is so awful? Not only lifting sanctions on the bad actors in Iran and Russia but giving us no guarantees of much of anything into the bargain. That’s a question that lawmakers need to go ballistic on here.

Former State Department official Gabriel Noronha who has been warning about all the dangers in the deal said this needs to be stopped.

“Providing Rosatom a guaranteed $10 billion lifeline right now is just another example of how this administration is undermining all its anti-Russia rhetoric with hidden technical concessions that keep Putin and his cronies’ companies afloat,” Noronha said. “It’s got to stop.”

This is madness.
