Former Labor Sec Robert Reich Says Dem Senators Should Have Physically Attacked Sinema

The target that Democrats have painted on the backs of both Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) has put them both at risk. They’ve both been harassed and put in danger because of this effort, yet the Democrats don’t seem to care. Even this week, Democrats were still directing their fury at them over the filibuster, as we saw from Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) with Stephen Colbert and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) last night. Imagine the courage it takes to stand by your principles when you are faced with all that effort.

Democrats talk a lot about “fascists,” but it was fascinating to watch Sanders rail at them, asking why Manchin and Sinema couldn’t just throw the rules away to get what the party wants. It mystified him — he said — why they just couldn’t do that, which shows a window into how he and the other Democrats who want to toss aside the filibuster think. Who cares about the rules or the Senate, as long as we get what we want?

But last night after the Democratic effort to kill the filibuster went down to a crushing defeat, with Manchin and Sinema voting with Republicans to save the filibuster, some on the left lost it including former Clinton Administration Secretary of Labor Robert Reich.

“Tonight, Republican senators lined up to shake Kyrsten Sinema’s hand,” Reich tweeted. “Democratic senators should have given her the backs of their hands.” He later deleted the tweet, but the internet is forever.

Yikes. Talking about advocating violence. Not to mention against a woman. Just because she refused to go along with what they wanted. This is where they are at now; this is what they’re stoking. This is so shameful, but the chances that the liberal media will cover this — or even care — are not likely. If it were a Republican who had done this and deleted his tweet, we know that it would probably be leading on all the networks, followed by 24/7 analysis of what it all means.

After seeing how Sinema has stood in the breach against all this assault, I do not doubt that in a throwdown with Reich, he wouldn’t stand a chance if he tried to give her a backhand.

People on Twitter rightly blasted Reich for his tweet.

The Democrats have pretended to be against promoting such things, but we’ve seen it before during the health care battle where Republicans were harassed. We also saw it from people like Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) encouraging violence against Trump officials. But now, they’re even eating their own.

Reich has previously decried violence against women. Apparently, that only applies to women on the left.

In addition to encouraging violence, Reich also pushed the new Democratic narrative that not passing ‘voting rights’ would make elections illegitimate. Joe Biden pushed that same ‘attack on democracy’ yesterday during his press conference.

Now, I can point to Reich’s tweet against Sinema and say what a horrible man Reich is for having said this. But the problem is, it isn’t just Reich who’s pushing this kind of anger against Sinema. The Democrats should take some self-reflection on the whole subject to see what they are doing and stop it. They won’t. But they should.
