Fear porn over COVID has driven some people into wild responses. As we noted, there are some folks flooding emergency rooms in Vermont despite being asymptomatic and other people suffering from a pandemic of fear of the virus.

On Christmas Day we wrote about the melee that occurred on a Delta flight from Tampa to Atlanta on December 23.

A woman became infuriated that an elderly man was not wearing a mask on the flight. He said that he was eating at the time. She started screaming at him to put his mask on, a verbal back and forth ensued, with him telling her to “Sit down, Karen” and calling her a bad name. Then she hit him in the face, after which she allegedly scratched his face and spit on him. All the while that she was screaming at the man to put his mask up, her mask sat down around her chin.

Now more information has surfaced, and the reports indicate that the man was 80 years old and that other people were injured as well, including at least one crew member, although their injuries were unclear. Multiple crew members had intervened to try to pull her away from the man. A person at the end of the clip, presumably a passenger, alleges that she poured hot water on his leg.

The woman was identified as Patricia Cornwall and was taken into custody by the FBI after they landed in Atlanta.

Delta issued a statement on the incident.

“Flight 2790 from Tampa to Atlanta was met by law enforcement after an unruly customer disturbance during flight. Situations like these are rare for the vast majority of our customers and Delta has zero tolerance for unruly behavior at our airports and aboard our aircraft.”

It turns out there was a little bit more to the story before she went after him about the mask. According to court records, she was trying to make her way back to her seat but was blocked by the flight attendants serving with the beverage cart. So the flight attendants asked her if she would take an empty seat until they could finish and get past her. According to the report she said, “What am I, Rosa Parks?” The elderly man who was sitting nearby took offense to her comment and said to her that she “isn’t black….this isn’t Alabama and this isn’t a bus.” It was after that that she went off on him about his mask. How could anyone possibly make that comparison over being asked to sit in a seat to help out the attendants? That’s completely unhinged.

The records also indicated they viewed the attack on the elderly man as a violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 113(a)(4), assault within the special maritime and territorial jurisdiction of the United States because it was on a plane in flight.

According to Heavy, Cornwall has worked as an actress, appearing on Baywatch, and was a Playboy model at one point, although most recently she worked as a Realtor.
