Ted Cruz Takes Down the Delusions of the Never Trumpers Cheney and Kinzinger

I’m not sure what’s going on in the heads of Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) or Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL). Let’s call it the Delusions of the Never Trumpers.

Both Kinzinger and Cheney seem to have hopes of higher office, and they think somehow that they are going to have Democrats in their corner for any run in the future. They don’t seem to understand that the only reason that Democrats give a lick about either of them now is to use them as a cudgel to try to attack the Republicans and/or President Donald Trump.

They are “useful idiots” in the classic sense of the old Soviet term. The Democrats will use them for what they can get from them and toss them to the side like old wrapping paper. Democratic lawyer Marc Elias gave that away when he attacked Kinzinger as a “critic of voting rights” because he wasn’t complying with the Democratic narrative in that regard.

CNN gave Cheney airtime during which she claimed that, “privately,” there were Republicans who were telling her, “Thank you for what you’re doing” on the Jan. 6. hatchet committee of the Democrats. Really? Do tell. Tell us their names. I’m going to take a wild guess that isn’t true in the slightest. She got censured by her own party in her own state and she’s about to be primaried into oblivion there. Her prospects for a political future are bleak.

When asked if she intends to run for president in 2024, Cheney said that she thought it was going to be a very important election. Jake Tapper then led the speculation as to whether there was a “lane for Liz Cheney” in 2024.

That’s when Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) stepped in with the jab.

“Yes, it’s called the Democratic primary,” Cruz said sarcastically.

Cheney responded.

“I know you’re posturing for the secessionist vote, Ted. But my party, the Republican party, saved the Union. You swore an oath to the Constitution. Act like it,” Cheney said.

Cheney’s take was deceitful spin on what Cruz has said about secession. He said while he understood the sentiment, he was not supportive of it.

“I think Texas has a responsibility to the country, and I’m not ready to give up on America. I love this country,” he said.

He also added that Texas has an added responsibility to the U.S. as it is currently “an amazing force keeping America from going off the cliff” and “keeping America grounded in the values that built this country.”

Plus, her party? Cheney has abandoned the Republican Party and they don’t want to have much to do with her. She’s thrown in with the Democrats, so she is basically a Democrat, even if she’s only being used by them for their own ends. The disconnect is powerful with her.

But that wasn’t all.

Kinzinger weighed in to help out his Never Trumper buddy, “Damn son Liz brought the heat on you!”

That’s when Cruz completely finished them both off with the last word.

“These two need to hurry up and get their bottom-rated @msnbc show,” Cruz said, dropping the mic on the two of them.

But it’s so true. They’ll run for whatever they think they can run for and turn in absolutely dismal numbers, have to drop out because no one is truly interested in either one of them. Then they will become the “Republican” commentators on MSNBC or CNN, who are the only people who would give them any credibility at all. Check back for this prediction — you know it’s coming.
