We’ve seen the Biden team basically blow off the crisis at the border for months now with record amounts of illegal entry — over 208,000 illegal aliens encountered entering in August and over 400,000 predicted for this month.
We saw the incredible sight of people just walking across the Rio Grande and into the country by the thousands, with up to 15,000 camping under a bridge in Del Rio, Texas. The response of the Biden team? Many were just released into the country. The Biden team was more concerned about spreading a fake story about the Border Patrol whipping people then they were about trying to solve the greater problem.
The Biden team hasn’t done anything to improve the problem, indeed they actually created the crisis by blowing up all the things that worked under President Donald Trump, including his Remain in Mexico policy that had the country acting as an effective “wall” to slow people coming in by having people who applied for asylum waiting in Mexico.
Now, he’s being forced to reinstate it by the courts and Biden’s basically conceding they are going to have to put it back in play.
In the meantime, people are still flooding in and Biden is shipping them in secret night flights all over the country. So if you think it’s just affecting the border cities like those in Texas, it’s affecting most of us, across the nation.
But Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) has a great solution that would actually address the problem since Joe Biden doesn’t want to — “the Stop the Surge Act.” He’s bringing it right to Barack Obama and Joe Biden’s backyards and Sen. Bernie Sander’s dacha on the lake.
“For the past ten months, President Biden and his administration have willingly surrendered the United States’ southern border to dangerous criminal cartels, with no thought given to the South Texas border communities like McAllen and Del Rio, which are running low on resources from dealing with this massive influx of illegal immigrants. That’s why today I am introducing this crucial legislation to alleviate the massive overload at the southern border by establishing new ports of entry in Democrat-led communities such as North Hero, Vermont, where Bernie Sanders spends his summers, and Martha’s Vineyard, where Democrat elites host their cocktail parties.
“If Washington Democrats had to endure even a fraction of the suffering South Texas families, farmers, ranchers, and small businesses have had to face, our nation’s immigration laws would be enforced, the wall would be built, and the Remain in Mexico policy would be re-implemented. I urge my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to stop ignoring the plight of South Texas communities and act swiftly to end this horrific humanitarian crisis.
“My Democrat colleagues have hosted hearing after hearing on amnesty and federalizing elections while completely ignoring the crisis at our southern border. From my time this year on the ground in Laredo and Del Rio, it is abundantly clear that President Biden has all but abandoned our border patrol agents and processing facilities, and left Texas communities to fend for themselves. President Biden and Democrats need to step up to defend our southern border and support our heroic Customs and Border Protection officials.”
Cruz laid it out on Fox, while also proposing to stop catch and release but increase the judges adjudicating the asylum claims.
Democrats need to face the disaster of their policies and the humanitarian misery they are causing.

Cruz’s idea would be perfect, coupled with a reinstituted Remain in Mexico policy. It would speed up the process, reduce the cost and quickly adjudicate most of the cases that don’t qualify for asylum. And it’s funny, but oh so true, that Democratic politicians won’t actually care about the problem until it hits them where they live.
